As long as they keep it separate and don't let it impact their regular song writing, I fully support the acoustic stuff. I think more bands should do this instead of watering down their heaviness over time.

Agreed, but the beauty of a stripped album is they choose what songs to make acoustic. Stitch (and some others) work better the way they are. You don't have to cover all of them. Just the ones they feel they something with, as they did with Johnny Cash.
