At 8:55 you can see that you bent the rod. I think it's better to remove that white plastic beforehand and slide the rod into it.

Appreciate the video, but the hardest part was hurriedly skipped over. 8:50 it jump cuts past the part where you slot the rod in before securing it into place. I've tried for hours and can't get it in snug. Frustrated
