Love this crossover. Hope it becomes a regular. Also just wanted to say thanks to both of you for all the information you’ve put out there, as cycling tech is a never ending minefield, and you’ve both helped me make some really informed decisions.
Great content. Really enjoyed this conversation. Couple months ago, I did follow up on your review of the Magene Exars and bought a set of their 50/55 wheelset. The 10% discount came in handy. Thank you. Very pleased with the ride quality and performance. Handle crosswinds well. Great customer service.
I have to say, i have pestered Hambini a couple of times with technical questions and he was very gracious to help me out without expecting anything in return. it's the reason why I joined his patreon temporarily to pay back
Bought the LIGHTCARBON Gravel frameset with its 53c tire clearance & my bike mechanics were STUNNED by the quality of the carbon. Unbeatable quality/price ratio. They said it was better/cleaner thank CÀNYON frames. So thanks Hambini!!
Kudos on most excellent entertaining Hambini episode; really stepping up your production game. 2 ideas: 1. Set-up a Patrick Lino Discord group for discussion that you moderate and charge a nominal monthly fee? I have something similar with a tech group that I pay for. 2. I definitely need my local bike shop as I have a full time job and do not have the talent / experience to do my own maintenance well. Could the local bike shops migrate to a service and procurement model. Be in a position to procure whatever equipment is optimal and charge for the services and a handling if the shop makes the purchase. A customer could purchase Canyon or Winspace and the shop can fit, assemble and support. Would be great if my local bike shop was tuned into the better Chinese direct wheels and would help procure rather than me scrambling and then possibly not having the correct freehub. I have tech service / procurement and this is what we have done for many years.
The main trend for 2025 bikes will be the incorporation of safety technology. For a start, automatic pyrotechnically deployed parachutes, helmets and side impact air-bags. This will have the dual effect of lowering the serverity of crashes in the pro peloton and more substantially, negating the need to improve safety in build quality
I enjoyed this, so defo should become a periodic thing (podcast). Couldn't agree more with many points after seeing the eastern infiltration of D2C evolve. I'll give you some behind the scenes insights on the DM Patty. 👍
i wear hoodies on top to group rides just to piss off the freds.. i can drop them in my pajamas.. weenies pushing 2 watts per kilo wearing pns and riding sirvelos
In an ideal world, patreon shouldn’t have to exist. You should be getting decent enough ad revenue from the views you get on here. But it will be interesting to see how things pan out in the future, as I suspect with the way adverts are being increasingly shoved down our throats on RUclips, it’s actually part of a general trend to get us to submit into paying for RUclips premium, and making it more inline with subscription models such as Spotify or Netflix. It won’t be free for ever. But what does that mean for RUclipsrs? In theory it should mean more revenue… but in reality the squeeze will probably continue as RUclips makes bank.
I've had RUclips Premium well before becoming a RUclipsr. An ad-free experience has been a game changer. But man, viewers shouldn't have to do this. And I doubt the extra money RUclips makes from premium subscribers is going to content creators.
I think Hambini is wrong, aero is coming back. Yes the trend was do it all light bikes, but recently Dare made real chunky aero bike and Ridley has made a yet be released all out aero bike as well. I prefer a do it all bike my self, but aero is coming back..
I want to do this again. i had a right hoot.
Anytime big boy...
Hope so! Looking forward to it.
Thanks for tuning in, and thanks to Hambini for his time! Headphones on, hop on the trainer, and enjoy :)

We need to do a startup that makes cranks in .5mm increments so that the dentists don't renovate their kitchens again.

Just buy a Ridgid mtb throw some drop bars on it
Here’s the thing, they don’t sell those anymore.
Buying used has its challenges. Doesn’t come in my size nor do they come in the colours I like.
Kind of like what both of you guys do, right?
