- Is a number divisible by 7-
A shortcut to see if a number is divisible is as follows,
Take the last number and double it.
Subtract this number from the remaining number.
If this number is divisible by 7 or is 0 the entire number is divisible by 7
This divisibility rule will help save you some time.
That explanation was really very nice. Thank you! Many of the divisibility rules are nice, but I'm finding that divisibility by 7 of large numbers is easier when I just go ahead and divide the number.
Bless this video! I tried watching other videos to learn the divisibility, but they were all so confusing! It was straight to the point and so easy to understand!!
I just learned this method 1) multiply the last digit by 5 and then 2) add the remaining numbers and that tells you if its divisible by 7
So the number 105 ... multiply last digit x 5 = 5 x 5 = 25 plus the remaining digits 10 ... 25 + 10 = 35 which is divisible by 7
Thank you so much! This really helped me for my math. Im homeschooled. And then again, thank you!
met
for me too it was heip
Me too
Isnt it much quicker to divide a number by 7.
Yep. It can even be done mentally, and without all the confusing crap presented here. Another advantage of dividing straightaway is that if it IS divisible by 7, you already have the quotient. The "shortcut" given here doesn't give you the answer if the number is divisible by 7.
@@jeffw1267 Divide 135269452382 by 7 mentally.
@@piratesofphysics4100 to be fair, if you look at how many steps you'd have to take here to check and see if that random number is divisible by 7, you could have already went through long division and had not only the "yes or no" but the final quotient as well. It's a neat trick, and kinda crazy that it works (I'm sure there's some logical explanation for it), but it's simply too long of a process to go through.
@@piratesofphysics4100 135269452382...
13526945238-4=13526945234...

12-10=2.
2 isn't divisible by 7, therefore 135269452382 isn't divisible by 7.
For humor, I'll divide it mentally, then see if I'm right.
135269452382÷7=19324207483 R 1
Now I'll use calc...135269452382÷7=19,324,207,483.142
Still got it...

By knowing just this question?
What about 119. If we multiply 9 × 2 = 18, and if we 18 from 11, 11-18 = -7. So what about negetive numbers? Do they follow the same rules?
I know it's 6 years old and i don't think u will help...
Thankyou sir it's very helpful for me
Lots of Love and respect from pakistan🇵🇰
Thanks so much
I have my maths exam after tomorrow this will sure make me fast in division!!
How was your maths exam ?
your explanation is on the point and very simple to understand, thank you so much
Very easily explained and also very fast.Keep it up👍👍
2023 is easy to divide by 7 mentally. 21/7 = 3, so 2100/7 = 300. I subtract 77 to get the required 2023, so the quotient is (2100/7) - (77/7), or (300 - 11), or 289. It took me maybe three seconds to calculate directly. It is not hard if you practice regularly.
Thanks you so much sir
Very clear teaching and very useful
Thank you so much, this will help for my Math Homework!!!
Very clearly explained. Helped me a lot.
Explanation was really good. Thank you!
It was easy to understand. Thank you for making this video 😍
Wow how clearly you told I understood!!
Thank u so much🙏🙏
It really helped me
Thank you so much! I have a Math test in awhile thank you so much this is the most confusing one yet for me.
It helped me greatly in visualising the process. Thanks a lot.
Its very helpful for me and I understood it very clearly thanks a lot to you.
Thank you! I am studying for a quiz and this helped!
Great explanation 👍
7 divisibility rule was very hard I never got it but after watching this video I understood it all😊😊😊😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanku moo moo math and science for the video
Fun fact:every one is happy after watching this video
Bro using garuda Linux
Thank you!. That explanation helped so much!
Thank you for explaining divisibility rule of 7
Thank you! I never forget divisibility of 7
Glad I could help. 7 is a challenging number.
I am a math teacher and I can tell you that this was a perfect lesson. Thank you.
Thank you very much
Thanks a ton... Tomorrow is my Math final exam... This will help a lot :-)
1:14 Why do you say minus 202? Do you mean the absolute value of 6 - 202? Why not just say 202 - 6, which is what you write?
He probably just said it wrong tbh
I had my exam (online) and I was confused with the following and then I saw this video and it really helped me
n = 10a + b
n = 10a + b + 20b - 20b
n = 10a - 20b + 21b
n = 10* ( a - 2b ) + 21b
since 21b is divisible by 7 and we would like n to be divisible by 7, then a - 2b must be divisible by 7.

Thanks sir
I'm new student from INDIA🇮🇳
Thank you very very very much.tomorrow is my math exam and you saved me from the stresssss
Best video in youtube to understand disviblity rule of 7
Thank you so much. It was really helpful.
Very helpful I know every divisible rule except this one. But now I know
You helped me a lot @MooMooMath and Science
Gud...
You still need to know your multiples of 7 in the end. Also, can’t you just divide the number by 7? If there’s a remainder. Then it’s not divisible, right? That’s why I HATE math. I excelled in English, speaking, writing, and became a writer.
Very informative video, it helped me a lot
Really helpful my end of year exam is coming so this really helps.😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Thanks 🙏🏼 that was helpful 🙂
Thank you soo much!I have a test today!
*I have subscribed to your channel😄*
Really helpful! Thanks
Thanku so much.. I understood now.. 🌼
Thank you I am in fifth grade so I needed it
me too fifth grade. don't mind my name it is a fake name i made
Way better than my maths teacher
For some reason my school tells us the rule for 1-10 but skips 7 🤷♂️
Yeah ur right
This video helped me and I understood better
How about 98 and 1979? It has the final result as negative. What does that mean?
Or you could just divide the number by seven, and if it has a remainder ,it is not divisible by 7
i forgot it and that's why i failed a test. i won't forget it again........... at least that's what i hope for
Wow I have learn carefully if divisibility rules of 7 👌👌👌👌
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou soooo much!
This was realllly helpful.
Excellent
thanks a lot for the teaching
We can also divide 196 from 7 it is also divisible by 7
numerator = int(input("Enter a numerator: "))
denominator = int(input("Enter denominator: "))
while denominator == 0:
print "Denominator cannot be zero!"
denominator = int(input("Enter denominator"))
if numerator / denominator * denominator == numerator:
print "Divides evenly!"
else:
print "Doesn't divide evenly."
Why are u checking divisiblity for 196?? The number is 193 is it divisible
Super sir it is understanding very easy
Super.Thanks it really helped👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏👍👍
thankyou very much you helped for my exam i got about of 20/20marks im test and i was first ....
-1:00 it's actually 2023😅
105
5x2=10
10-10=0
how is this divisible by 7?
Thanks
yaa and until you simplify the number from big to small, exam has ended.
Not funny though
Let N=abc
The remainder of N by 7 is:
r=(a+b)×2+(b+c).
For N=875
r=(8+7)×2+(7+5)=1×2+5=7=0 [7]
because 7=0 , 8=1 modulo 7.
r=0 : 7 divise N.
N= 345 148 174
r3 r2 r1
r1=(1+7)×2+(7+4)=1×2+4=6 [7]
r2=(1+4)×2+(4+8)=5×2+5=1 [7]
r3=(3+4)×2+(4+5)=0×2+2=2 [7]
Remainder of N is:
r=r1-r2+r3=6-1+2=7=0 [7]. So N is divisible by 7.
Nicely understood. Thanks
Thank you so much i have understood ☺️ it have help me a lot ☺️☺️
So how many time we have to repeat this process for a 7 or 8 digit number
I did not understand a y of the concept as it was explained not well I saw video before that was incredible and this 1 was just time pass I dint understand a single thing try to explain it more nice
Thank you this is my feedback and comment .
i understood very easyly
Your video is so nice
It is helpful to us
Thx
I couldnt understand the rule of 7
You made my understand
Thank you it really helped me😊😊😊
Thank you so much
Thxs this really helps me a lot
Irene Wu, Good to hear
1001/7=143
But
01*2=2
10-2=8
8/7 is not possible please tell me
Although 998 satisfies the divisibility rule....it's not actually divisible by 7...
what do you mean
998 99-2x8= 99-16=83 83 8-2x3= 8-6=2 !!! How does that satisfy?
You either applied the trick incorrectly, or are just trolling. 998 does not work
yeah but what is the proof I can't understand this
Thank you 😘
Thanks very much
What about 105?
Follow the same technique
25-10=15
15 is not divisible by 7
But actually 105 ID divisible by 7
Watch the video carefully dude😐😐
Wao great double of 5 is 25🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏
This video was really helpful and I am in 7th class from jdsvm
Is it applicable to all the large digit numbers
Yep
It is great trick I understood this👌👌👌
Thank you very much for your video
Thanks helped my homework
If the last digit is 0 like 4340 how we check divisibility of 7
❤ love this vid
Thank you very much 👍🙏
It was very interesting
thanks for helping 👍👍
Be careful what you say in the video! It confuses people when you say, "Six subtract 202 is 196." I know it is an innocent mistake, but you should have said in the video, "202 subtract six is 196."
Oof thank u so much i really need that for my online class
this really helped me thank you
Thank you that helped me a lot
