I remember staying in the Rosen Centre Hotel and watching the convention centre being built. Also, Pointe Orlando was the place to be - the F.A.O Schwartz toy store was wonderful and there was loads to see and do. It’s a shame what’s happened to it. This vlog was great, loads of info for our well awaited October trip
The only issues we had with animal kingdom lodge for a stay are 1) that it is a bit remote from the other parks and attractions so the bus rides are longer. 2) that the distance to your room can be a bit extended with long walks through dingy corridors. Everything else is brilliant though and we really loved the fire side spots and the mezzanine bar. Our preferred hotels are the Beach club/Yacht club as they are so handy for Epcot, Boardwalk and Hollywood studios.
Been going to Florida every year to two years since 2006…. Just watching your vlogs makes me feel at home! Like I was going down international drive with you and knowing exactly what you would be driving past next. Roll on November which will be our first trip after covid, last there February 2020. Thank you for all your vlogs, you guys are amazing ☺️
Made me laugh about Leigh’s umbrella. We’ve just got back from 6 days in NYC & went we went out of T5 at Heathrow my cabin case was being scanned in & out of the x ray machine at security & then taken aside. I thought it was because we had all my sons medications in a packing cube as he has so many. But no it was the bloody umbrella!! They took it out and swabbed ! Who knew an umbrella could cause so much trouble! X
Fairly new and I've gotta admit I love how much you guys eat !! 😋 the amount of restaurants I've wrote down for our trip next year has really helped.. so massive thank you to you both ❤️ Loved this vlog series currently working backwards now on your other trips and videos ❤️
The series has been fab. I can’t wait to get back to Orlando in January. We tend to go every January but it looks lovely there in April. ☀️ My husband isn’t a fan of the heat, hence January trips. He survives the heat at Disneyland Paris around September time, but tends to complain 😅
Stayed at Animal Kingdom when kids were younger and couldn't fault the hotel at all, room was a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Only issue we had was the ants due to the balcony leading to where the animals were located. We thought we were all parked out seeing we've been going as a family since 2000 especially with the amount of people visiting now-a-days but these RUclips clips bring back the memories and realization that Florida has everything you need in a vacation
Red lobster is brilliant not just for sea food but have lovely steaks. With all meals you get a side salad as well as cheesy Biscuit which are like cheese scones beautiful. Do t order a starter as the biscuits and salad are your starters . Go there every year we go to Orlando and have been going since 1992 and never disappoints .it is always a must on any of our visits . Give it a go next time you go .😎
About the parking at the Pointe Orlando, you can validate your parking ticket at some shops and restaurants and also at the movie theater. We have never paid for parking there.
Great vlog , I love Vineland outlet mall! My favourite mall is mall of millennia it’s not so busy so you can stroll ! Florida mall is hustle and bustle and loud! The buses are really cheap as well , we used them in January instead of car hire !
Red Robin is definitely worth a visit, we found we preferred the one on international drive compared to the one on the 192. Also u get bottomless steak fries with ya burgers 😜
Great video guys! We started to stay in the magic of Disney Resorts from 1997, but before that we always booked at what was then called Las Palmas Inn on 6233 International Drive (now called Monumental Movieland Hotel I believe and not so good I hear?). Directly over the road was Wet 'n Wild water park and we used to go to Sizzler every morning for our wonderful buffet breakfast. Always remember one year (1989) we stayed at the rear of Las Palmas (opposite I4) and from our room window we could view the construction of Universal Studios. Happy days!
There are times if you wait for it a good laugh will come from a quiet moment... Nick: Why do I feel so relaxed? Leigh: Cause you've had two blue moons and three donuts. Didn't even miss a beat on that reply Leigh, good on ya. lol
Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite location ... I love Boma, the bar, watching the animals and that fire... I was there 6 weeks ago and I spent a good amount of time just relaxing there at the fire.... it is a must do for me... it is always quiet there too ... the location is "off the path" and it is pricey but I think it is worth it.... thanks again and be well !!!
Maggiano’s is my favorite Italian restaurant, and the portions are massive. The desserts are amazing as well. Red Robin is known for their burgers. Red lobster is okay, it can be pricy though. They’re known for their cheddar biscuits (free with meal)…sometimes they do unlimited shrimp once or twice a year.
While watching this vlog we realised that we first discovered you guys through a search for International Drive videos - can't believe that it was your Jan 22 vlog we first saw as I think we've watched about a thousand of your vids since then! 😄 I notice that there's a lot of love for the Longhorn Steakhouse on I-Drive. Have you two ever eaten there? Oh, and I can't believe you've never ridden the I-Trolley!
We stayed in AKL in 2004 - It was a trip of a lifetime - since then with older kids and bigger trips - we haven't spent the money on the lodge - but we have fond memories!!! As always love your vlogs - We are heading to WDW in September ! Will be binge watching all your vlogs for content until then!
Agree we did Wonderworks when our kids were young and it was much cheaper. Just wanted to point out that Point Orlando is much busier at night time as lots of people from the conferences go there. Also if you eat at the some of the restaurants you get free valet parking
We have never gone end to end of I drive so will do that next time. Could tell were keen to get back on those scooters 😃 we always park in free carpark there is also a valet park for free u just tip them when u collect the car. Ideal for if the car park is busy
Hahaha. I tried to move one of those scooters a couple of days ago when we went on the Icon Park Ferris Wheel. It made that noise and scared the mess out of me!
We used the i-trolly and if u book it in England its only 13 quid for 14days 😁👍 but i will say we was waiting around a lot 4 it no time table and was waiting 30 to 40 mins every time then 2 would come 2gether 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 great blog again guys we stayed at rosen inn at pointe Orlando so new everywhere around were u was on this 1 😁😁😁👍👍💙💙
Don’t usually comment folks but you guys should 100% check out the sunsets on the Sefton coastline (Birkdale, Southport, Formby or Crosby) Some of the best anywhere
Red Lobster is an absolute must - we have been every time we visit Florida (have been about four times). I have had various dishes but the garlic Alfredo pasta with Cajun chicken is always amazing. I have also had a lobster which I chose from the tank. I have never experienced a bad meal or poor service and the cheddar bay biscuits are to die for! Please please try it and make judgement for yourself! 😁😁
I used the iride and it was fantastic and I could get to every where I wanted to go on them Seaworld to universal (you have to walk a little way to get to universal from international drive once your off the bus )
Great vlog Leigh & Nick. Leigh, when you said "Eyelash Machine", it sounded so out of place beside all the Candy Machines. 🍬 Suppose there is a place for everything!
boma does the best breakfast buffet hands down, you should have popped in to the Mara for a desert they have got a load there …. Stayed in AKL 5 times hopefully 6th next year never stayed any where else
Love this vlog and love how honest you both are about the places you visit and food you try. Can I ask where you got your neck fans from they look great. I was going to say cool lol
Our 1st onsite hotel was AKL. Has spoilt us for any other stay. Was “pixie dusted” to savanna view room. Was heaven. Just a shame spend most of time out of hotel/rooms xx
Hi,great video, can you give the sat nav address for the restaurant you guys ate in at the end of this video, where you had the, butter chicken & chick peas. Thank you 🙏
I really like red lobster… They have the most amazing baked potatoes and cheddar biscuits… The one thing that I tend to stay clear of is the lobster only because sometimes they can cook it a little too tough… But most of their shrimp dishes are really good… I have yet to see or hear you guys talk about Chick-fil-A… When are you going to eat there? The other place that I wanted to suggest is White Castle… It’s just a little hamburger place and they sell these tiny little sliders but they are the most amazing burgers… They don’t have them out here in California but I grew up on them because I lived on the East Coast and I miss them… I’d love for you to try them… love you guys♥️♥️
We've used the I ride trolley, it's been fine for I'drive, hop on and hop off, ideal if you have no car, I think it was $18.00 or £18.00 for 14 day pass in 2018. Also had an awful meal in Maggiano's in 2018. In 2013 the meal was superb, so don't know what happened.
We’ve got our holiday at the AKL next month, really looking forward to a more relaxed Disney holiday this time. More time at the hotel and pool than at the parks although that might change when we get there……..😆
I hate the fact Pointe charges for parking, however when you go the Cinema or Main Event they validate your parking, unsure about other places but I have heard there is more stuff heading to Pointe
I've stayed in Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village, in a DVC one-bedroom and also in a DVC studio. It's very nice, especially with savanna view. I'd stay there again. I'd love to try staying in Jambo House instead of Kidani. Red Robin is a fun burger place, it's a chain of restaurants all over the USA. I recommend it. Get the onion rings if you go. I'm very sorry I wish I could have spoken to you both. ( I'm the guy with the blue sleeveless top with the walking stick.
Red Lobster is a hit or miss. Their quality has gone down a lot through the years. By hit or miss I mean it depends on the cook and the waiters/waitress staff.
I’ve had pretty bad service at Red Lobster before, and the rudest waiter I think I’ve ever had in my life was at Maggiano‘s (neither in Florida, though). Red Robin has excellent gourmet burgers. And the last part of the video reminded me of how long it’s been since I’ve had a box of those Entenmann’s donuts - maybe I’ll get some when I go grocery shopping at Publix tomorrow morning!
The lynx bus will take you from I drive to Disney. You pay once and ask for a transfer ticket. It allows you to transfer at Seaworld for nothing. Costs a couple of dollars each way. Takes a while so try to avoid peak. Great for wheelchairs. The I trolley is a nuisance for wheelchairs. We actually had some Japanese tourists taking photos of my daughter on the wheelchair lift. They were fascinated. It’s just a palaver. Lynx a lot better.
seriously nick and Leigh , thanks very much for your vlogs we really look forward to seeing them, this latest one was where we always went with our kids for many years and it it brought back lovely memories for us . I love how you guys go to blistering hot Florida and look for fires to sit next to...😅

Animal Kingdom is a wonderful hotel to stay, we enjoy the rocking chairs and firepit outside. Our favourite Disney hotel.

Pointe Orlando is very much a night time venue. Go at night and it is busy. Lots of the shops bars and restaurants open in the evening
We had Red Lobster in New York. It was packed and we had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table but food was gorgeous
still not tried it but will do when we hit florida x

Have they removed the timeslot pass for star wars rides? Is it just on the new rides?

I thought the same and would love to have a link for the neck fan, please 🙏🏻 thanks x
Next time, hit the Mara (their Quick Service downstairs) and grab a serving of the Zebra Domes for dessert. So good!

I have been to the premium outlet Mall. If I am at near a food court I have to have my philly cheesesteak.
Maggiano’s is delicious Italian! Should definitely try it next time.
We need to try it next time we go
Really enjoyed the vlog, can I ask what wall plug do you use for the Bath and Bodywork’s smellies ?
Brilliant vlog very informative xo
I've stayed in Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village, in a DVC one-bedroom and also in a DVC studio. It's very nice, especially with savanna view. I'd stay there again. I'd love to try staying in Jambo House instead of Kidani.
Red Robin is a fun burger place, it's a chain of restaurants all over the USA. I recommend it. Get the onion rings if you go. I especially like the whiskey river barbecue burger and the whiskey river chicken sandwich. Haven't been in a while, though (thanks, Covid), so the menu may have changed.
Red Lobster is also a national chain and has decent seafood. Not awesome, but not bad either. Red Robin is better, though, so if you only have time for one, try Red Robin first.
