I'm now just short of 70 years old. My grandfather gave me my first taste of Oklahoma quail back in the 1950s. Over the years I have had around 20 bird dogs and hunted all over western Oklahoma. Your show brought back great memories. Nothing like an explosion of a 50 bird covey to stop a heart! I'm not the wing shooter I used to be, but my heart is all the stronger because of those covey rises. My best friend no longer has the 5000 acre family ranch south of Carter we mostly hunted on. We were so blessed. We could hunt whenever we wanted and be in the middle of the best quail hunting in America. That includes the southeast states. The Oklahoma panhandle was great for quail and pheasants. If you're ever wanting to hunt bobs and pheasants in one bird go after blue quail. You might contact Larry Flynt in the panhandle. He lives outside of Hooker, Oklahoma. Anyway, great show. Christopher Carr, Tulsa.
Maybe a suggestion that would help in the future. It is the reward of the pointing dog to retrieve the bird. As an avid upland bird hunter, I would suggest letting the pointer have the opportunity to retrieve the bird he worked so hard to find for you.
P please tell me kind of where you guys are at in this video? I also was wondering if it would be wise to put boots on the dog? You guys are somewhere in Oklahoma.
Any idea if I can combine a Pheasant hunt somewhere in the same area wi th a quail hunt in Beaver? Will be making a trip with my lab hopefully this year. TY For this.....ive been trying to find pheasant and quail here in texas, but its been real tough to find them due to the limited amount of public land we can explore.
Great video guys. Next hunt try one of those GoPro cameras on your head to get the full impact of the Flush and actual shooting the birds and the quick slo- mo replay. 👍🏻
This was great, I have been researching "quail cage wire size" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Eeyila Rudimentary Expediency - (do a google search ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind product for discovering how to raise healthy and fertile quail minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my partner got amazing success with it.

What public land are you hunting on? Wasn't aware of a WMA in Wakita.
Great stoke!
Da doggies! Yep, I'm like a little kid watching dogs work. Man that looks like a lot of fun.
I hate that my life precludes a setter or two. 😞

I wish I could drive out there. My pointer would be in heaven. But I live in New York and it’s 25 hours instead of 15 :-(
