Beautiful harvest! (As usual. 😀 ) I can only imagine what delicious things you will make with them. If you cure your garlic like you do onions you do not have to wash them. The outer skin and dirt just falls away with a quick rub. You are left with a perfectly clean and cured garlic bulb. Makes quick work of it and no splashing or scrubbing. Thank you for bringing us along on your garden adventures. 😀 Also appreciate that you keep a simple everyday garden like most people might have and would be able to "follow along" with in their own back yard. No need for a large homestead to have a beautiful and abundant garden.
Those are an excellent size and quality Dan. You must be delighted. The last 2 years my bulbs got hit with rust in mid May and it really affected the crop. What variety were yours?
These are Solent Wight. Rust is just a lottery, sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't. Not much you can do about It either. Tried allsorts but nothing fixes it. Cheers Dan 😊
I prefer the term 'no till' rather than 'no dig' as we're only digging to harvest, not to 'improve' the soil. Big difference in rust between what I had outside & the garlic I planted at the back of the borders in the polytunnel - the latter had no rust to speak of, whereas the outside crop was wick with it.
Yeah, can never be no dig in reality. Sometimes I get rust early and it ruins the crop. This year it came late so didn't really affect it. Some years I don't get it at all. It's just a lottery. Cheers Dan 😊
HI Dan lovely crop of garlic 🤘where did you buy your garlic from of your first sowing ? ive try the method that you do for growing carrots in a sand box and its a game changer great videos bud
I fill the greenhouse with garlic when the tomatoes get pulled, seems to work out most years, always looking for an earlier variety though since I need them out by end of May to get the tomatoes back in.
Amazing harvest, I always like the garlic harvest videos. I don't know if you said or not, but are these soft neck or hard neck garlic? either way, they look great, you will be eating good for a long while.

Very nice harvest Dan! Thank you for filming and posting!
Wow wetting the garlic before drying never heard of it new to me😊
Same same. I cure mine for a couple weeks, then clean and trim and store. I'll try cleaning some next year to compare.
Just cleaning all the soil off before drying.
Never caused me any probs at all.
Cheers Dan 😊
@@Allotment-diaryUk i understand completely! I like learning new ways of doing things and you always inspire 😁
Wow Dan thats a fantastic crop
I'm very happy with it.
Cheers Dan 😊
Hello Dan. Great return, you must eat a lot of garlic in your house! Jim.
About a bulb a week so not that much Jim.
Cheers Dan 😊
Hi Dan,
I put my bulbs in the bottom of the fridge for around a month before planting out. They always split for me.
But I get the rust every year.
That will keep the vampires away 😆
But it seems to attract the French for some reason.
Cheers Dan 😊
@@Allotment-diaryUk throw them a croissant 🥐 😂
Great result. I will have to try a later planting and see how it goes (in Australia).

These are Solent Wight.
Got them 20 years ago and just keep planting my own cloves every year.
Cheers Dan 😊

These are soft neck.
Solent Wight is the variety.
Cheers Dan 😊
Like the music good new video!!!!
Agree, what is the music
It's just some random copyright free music that youtube provides.
Cheers Dan 😊
Thanks
How did you get them that big? Mine were really tiny this year with lots of rust on the leaves....
When would you plant the bulbs
He said early March. I plant mine on Valentine's day but I'm 120+ miles south of Dan
Nice garlic there 👍👍🧄🧄🧄
I do mine this time of year and let them overwinter - but mine are out in June latest
I plant mine in early March.
Some folk plant in early Autumn but I've tried that and there's no advantage for me planting earlier.
@@Allotment-diaryUk I plant in fall, but I grow hardneck and we enjoy the scapes in late spring
LOL. I looked at the picture and I thought that you were holding a cast net for catching bait.
