Finnish pandemic "lockdowns" were a good example. Schools were closed and even the Uusimaa region was closed for a bit, but for the most part they were just recommendations, which people just followed in large part, because of the high trust society.
Have you found out about this: ""Start-up money is not a loan, but support, the purpose of which is to facilitate the entrepreneur's personal livelihood during the start-up of the business. You don't have to pay back the starting money."" that is used in Finland?
Interesting take. Trust is going down rapidly, as far as i've experienced. The covid situation raised a lot of questions about trust, and not only that but also migration issues. This is a good country that needs to assert more control over certain things, we also need a sense of direction culturally, not an imported one at that. Ps. I'm not an antivaxxer, but i didnt take that one spesific jab.
You can do almost anything in finland and just get slap on the wrist but tax crimes are punished severely. And employees get automatic taxes taken from the pay. So no way to fail in that. Only way to fail is to pay too much as you cannot show some expenses that make the tax lower. And even those are very small for employees. The trust we have is just that there is no way to avoid the taxes. "Only thing certain is death and taxes"
Not everyone knows how to add deductions, and not all of them automatically go to the taxman. For example, professional claims and books are eligible for tax deduction. You get 100% on books. The tax accountant will help if he understands how to ask
If you have your own business, then there is significant things to learn about the taxation system. But if you're a employed person, then its mostly really simple and handled automatically for you by your employer and the Finnish tax administration. You'll get prefilled tax declaration to check online. Many people don't have to make any changes or additions to it. I still recommended to learn the system so that you can actually check and understand, if something is wrong. Not knowing or understanding can lead to significant financial troubles. The more complicated your income sources and deductable expenses are the more complicated it can become. If you have significant business activities, hiring services to handle accounting and taxes can be smart.
In Germany, it is all the same as in Finland. A lot of people have a high trust in the government I think the coordination between how much you pay in taxes will correlate with how much you trust your government
i grew up in germany, and now live in finland and sorry, you are wrong. In germany about everybody is complaining about authorities politics and each other and there is precious little confidence in the ruling body - which is also shown in the AFDs popularity. it is no comparision to finland. Jaywalking isn't a really useful term to describe anything in Finland since it's rooted to different history and different legislation from the USA. Legal texts in other countries use different concepts, such as Rules applicable to pedestrians in the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
@Striving_for_Perfection Jaywalker isn't a term defined or used in Finnish legislation, which is in Finnish and Swedish. The Finnish Road Traffic Act includes rules for pedestrians including how to cross roads: Ajoradan ylittäminen Jalankulkijan on ylitettävä ajorata suojatietä kulkien tai ali- tai ylikulkua käyttäen, jos sellainen on lähellä. Hänen on ylitettävä ajorata tarpeettomasti viivyttelemättä. Ajorataan rinnastetaan tätä pykälää sovellettaessa pyörätie ja raitiotie.
I think one of the big things that I have noticed between high trust societies, is that they are generally the less well off, harsher, smaller places. In smaller communities where there were dangers all around, everybody sometimes has a hard year, and the people who had strong communities, where everyone came together are the ones who made it. I don’t know if it’s particularly to do with homogeneity though, as when traveling, I find it common that those traits are much more generic, rather than prejudiced for a particular group. My ex great grandparents got exiled forcefully to Kazakhstan with only the clothes on their backs, and they were saved by the people there, who gave out of the little they had, to the strangers with whom they had nothing in common, came from faraway lands, even when nobody had quite enough to eat. I have seen similar acts of kindness towards strangers in other similar societies in communities around the world, and I think it much more often has to do with people who have experienced needing help from society, and getting it. More often it occurs in less well off places but places like Finland also show that due to the social nets we have, I think. I think another thing that helps here is many people having gone through the military. The experience of people putting the wellbeing of the nation over their own, as well as the meeting of a truly random selection of people from all over the country. Also it’s not too long since we were equally dependent upon the kindness of strangers. I truly hope we don’t leave that behind.
Welcome to Russia))))

In 5:04 "Skatt" just means "Tax" in Swedish lanquage because we are bilingual as you probably know. Ps. Interesting chatting to hear anyway, thanks!

As a Finn, I trust the Finnish army, but that's the only thing. The Philippine police are nicer, as long as you respect them.

Interestingly enough, jaywalking isn’t a crime in Finland. You just are responsible for your own safety when crossing without a crosswalk.

@@just42tube oh, thanks, I had read about it earlier but obviously not to the depth you have and apparently was wrong. Thanks for the clarification.
