This song has a deep meaning for me. I loathed opera/classical singing until one night at college in the 1970s, I saw Beverly Sills sing Estrellita on the Johnny Carson show. Hammerblow to my soul. I’ve been a devotee of great singing ever since.

Very curious about quickly using the ah vowel to transition from F# to G# on 'quiere. 2:26' It's Masterful. Taller vowel makes tiny bit more space to reposition? (is that too technical?) Either way. Damn.
When I saw the title I thought it was the Spanish version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, which is also called Astrellita.

wow wow wow wow wow.... Absolutely gorgeous. I'm supposedly very young "Heldenbaritone" ,as my coach puts it, at age 17, and I wish to perform this for a college audition now that I have heard it. I might could perform this my senior year even! Definitely going to have to consult with my coach first as I know I'm not ready right now, but why not try. Very kind of you to share!

Nice version! Have you ever tried to sing "Amor, vida de mi vida", from the zarzuela "Maravilla"? It was sung by Domingo in his tenor days, but it was originally a piece for baritone
