Former University of Hawaii quarterback and 2007 Heisman Trophy finalist Colt Brennan has died, according to his father Terry Brennan. Colt Brennan, 37 was a patient at a rehabilitation facility when he was found unconscious a few days ago. He died on Monday at Hoag Hospital in Newport, Calif. “He was doing so well, the spark was back in his eyes, and he was healthy and doing great, and it happened,” Terry Brennan said. The elder Brennan said his son was in the fifth month of a six-month treatment program. Terry Brennan indicated his son left the facility and suggested a drug his son then ingested contributed to his death.
I was in the Army from 2006-2010 & was stationed in Hawaii. They are hard core football fans. They love their Warriors. I experienced the Colt Brennan era & it was amazing. Been a UH fan since!

The pinnacle of Rainbow Warrior Football. June took a team with mediocre facilities and non existent nutritiom program, and along with his coaches developed a average filled team into a powerhouse that was as good a program pound for pound as anyone. Miss those days. IMUA!
Spectrum really should be playing all these old games on repeat. I have a theory that lack of UH games for free on TV has hurt recruiting local kids as they grow up watching other teams unless they pay per view. Thank you for uploading these.
We were at a company Christmas party in Kapolei. Some Chinese restaurant. My boss was listening to the game with earphones as she ate her dinner. The last touchdown she screamed and raised her arms in victory completely forgetting that she was holding a fork full of food. Noodles went everywhere. Most hilarious thing I'd ever seen. I'm a UW alumni and this was the one time I was happy that the Huskies were beat. RIP CB.
I was at this game. My father in law had season tickets since the old downtown stadium days and the whole extended family all went to most home games for years for many years until 2013 or so. He had 4 seats down near the 50 yard line and 4 in the loge. He always gave us the loge seats, which we loved because it was always in the shade and out of the rain and it was right next to the press box. We were the only people in that section who were just regular people with regular jobs and not presidents of their own companies or people like that. The athletic directors of UH and the visiting school always sat 3 rows behind us. Carol Kai's seats were 10 feet away. This game was memorable because not only was the visiting AD behind us, but the president of Washington U and family/friends were there. They talked smack the entire time and I really enjoyed giving them a look once we tied it up then went on to win. I remember saying to my father in law, whose been an avid UH football/sports supporter from the beginning, "Really savor this, because I think we just witnessed the greatest season of UH football you'll ever see". By this point , my father in law had been a season ticket holder for 40 years I think. We eventually all stopped going to the games as the kids went from toddlers to grade school and had sports and all sorts of other stuff on the weekends and my father in law was getting to be about 80 and it was just getting to be a burden to load up the cars and cookout/get food every Saturday. The regulars in the loge who'd seen us every year, saw us go from 1 baby to 2 toddlers and watched them grow into adolescents. After we all stopped going, we'd get the game on the PPV and watch it at the gathering house and people could come and go as needed on Saturdays as time permitted. Father in law is still going strong at 86 and still travels and watches all the games. Miss those days.

Very bitter-sweet watching the 2007 UH football season..... Not only has Colt Brennan recently passed, but June Jones, who put UH on the football map, moved on after the 2007 season, reportedly due to the incredible stupidity of UH administration refusing to upgrade the primitive football facilities...
Remember it just like yesterday. Good ol glory days in Hawaii when this team bought back joy in the islands.💯💯 Good fkn times indeed. Aloha & GO WARRIORS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
I work at Aloha Stadium as a parking attendant. 2007 was my first year and what a year it was. Colt Brennan and the Hawaii Warriors had an amazing season and I will never forget it. Thanks for the memories Colt Brennan. RIP.
@2:55:50 commentator definitely doesn’t know about Hawaii’s culture. This win was for the entire state, not just for the football team! Thanks for all the memories Colt. Risked millions for himself so the state could make millions RIP! 🙏🏼
Their second guessing doesn't say much for their knowledge of the game when they say "this is the offense we came to see" DUH, if the defense is blitzing, you need to stop the blitz with screens, draws, shovel passes. It took them all the way till Desmond Howard told them that it was to slow down the blitz.
Of course he doesn't know about the culture, he's never lived here. Just like you don't know the culture of a small village in the Amazon jungle because you've never lived there. Donkey.
RIP Colt, you and this team gave Hawaii an unforgettable few years while you were here! He ended up 42/50. To put it into perspective that would be 84/100 or 84% he completed a pass. Every 10 passes, he completed 8 of them. I don't think I've ever seen any QB with that kind of precision, and his career average was 70+%.
RIP Colt I remember watching Hawaii this time back on mainland was so fun exciting and I used them on video games ncaa ps2. Definitely one of the greatest college qbs to ever do it.
I was at this game in the nose bleed section... this was the last time the stadium was sold out. When we were coming back with touchdowns I really though the stadium was gonna fall apart.. good times
