Hey guys! We always show you our travels, but this time it’s all about our everyday life in Tokyo. It’ll be changing soon too, as Aimee quits her teaching job at the end of this month and we get more days off together to explore Japan. But hope you enjoy this look into our daily life in Tokyo for the past year! Is there anything that surprised you about Tokyo living?
As a Chinese, that 'chime' lingering in the city reminds me of my school life, I didn't expect Tokyo to make it as a part of the daily routine. It's interesting
Thank you! Ooh that’s a great suggestion. We’ve both only had one job in Japan so far so we don’t have a lot of experience but Roy used LinkedIn and TokyoDev and I found my teaching job through GaijinPot.
you gained a new sub you guys your energy is just so lovely and how is to get in the country now I'm currently taking Japanese and trying o set up a life there
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and for subscribing! It always makes our day reading such nice comments 😊 Ooh that's exciting! We're fairly sure Japan is issuing new working, student etc. visas now, it's just tourist visas that are still restricted to only tour groups. Good luck with your Japanese study!
Oh what a great video! I almost got tears when I heard that song on the afternoon chime , I remember my mom used to sing it but can’t remember the name , do you know that? Please do more videos of your routine😊 I like to see what you buy at the kombini store Stay safe ✨💖✨
Aw really glad that the video could remind you of good memories 😊 The song is called Yuyake Koyake. Oh we're glad our routine and convience store trips are interesting haha! We'll have to do them more in the future. Hope you are also staying safe and well 😊
Hey hey!! Just found your channel and subbed! Is Japan/Tokyo do-able for couples that have kids? Background: I'm a software engineer as well and my wife is a former English teacher 🙂, and we have 2 young kids. Is a family house affordable enough for the typical engineer's salary (w/o wife working)? Best wishes and I'll stay tuned 🙂
Hey! Thanks for watching! Yeah we reckon it could be doable. To give a rough idea, a mid-level engineer can get around 6-7 million/year but we also have friends who are making up to 12 million yen. If you're living in the centre of Tokyo, you'll probably be looking at an apartment rather than a house, but if you lived further out (30-40 mins) in a place like Saitama, you could get something a bit bigger and more affordable. In terms of preschool/schools, if you went the international school route, we've heard they can be pretty expensive but we don't really have experience in this area 😅 so you may find some more affordable options. Hope this helps! 😊
Omoshiroi. How nice to know what your daily life is like in Tokyo . Beyond travel and beautiful scenery, you yourselves are interesting to know :) I'm not surprised that you liked Japan and decided to stay longer. I sometimes still wonder why I didn't stay.... It's great to see that things are going well for you and you are happy. Yoroshiku. pd. I hate Roy :D
Thank you for your lovely comment! We’re really happy that watching our everyday life was also interesting 😅 There’s definitely many things to love about Japan. Do you think you’d ever come back? Hahaha Roy’s got it pretty good 😆
