I have to raise my floor up inch to match another floor in my house on the main floor so I’m confused on the installation. Do I do base bottom plate/vapor barrier/plywood to raise floor/engineered hardwood or is it base bottom plate/plywood to raise up the floor/vapor barrier/engineered hardwood?
You mentioned main floor - as in you have another floor below it, like a basement? Usually there is a vapour barrier under the concrete slab of the foundation/basement, and you don't put a vapour barrier under the upper level floor. Some underlays for flooring will have a vapour blocking property to them, but I'm under the impression that it's more for keeping spills off the plywood.
@@RookieRoost no basement. The main floor meant the only floor and not the second story. Sorry! The concrete is the base floor that is made of rebar directly on the ground. So do you put the vapor barrier over that before using the plywood to raise the floor and then the engineered hardwood?
you guys should have used house wrap if you wanted a vapor barrier. house wraps allow moisture to breath out without letting any in.
great video, very thorough and informative.
What is the brand of acoustic sealant you guys used?

Job sure goes easier with two
Why did you seal the plywood to the plastic sheet? As I see it, you only wasted time and money and didn't get anything for it.
From my understanding, the sealant would ensure any screws that go through wouldn't poke a hole where moisture could get through.
Love your work. Mom
Which sill gasket product did you go for? Is it a 10inch wide version?
Can you post where you get your products
Almost everything in the build was purchased from Home Depot. A few exceptions are the trailer, roofing, and appliances.
This shit is hilarious lol
Glad you're enjoying it!
