Have you ever calculated your true cost to process credit cards with Stripe?

Stripe alternative?
What is a good alternative? Is there was a way where developers can bypass using stripe, square, etc? My business idea handles transactions that are $5. This standard fee kind of ruins my business model. Need help here

What would you suggest as an alternative platform
It depends on your average ticket, your total monthly volume, whether your ecommerce vs. retail (or phone order) and a couple other factors. If you have stable and regular volume per month that you're processing, I'd definately recommend a merchant account option that has an internchange plus pricing program. Does the 19.12$ transfered to the company bank account directly?

Yes. The money ($19.12) would be transfered directly to the business bank account
There is a payment fee for the transaction as illustrated in the video.
2.9% + $0.30 is industry standard, but this makes it sound like stripe is ripping you off
2.9% didn't used to be the industry standard, but it sort of become the standard when Stripe came around. (even though Paypal was there first). I'm not saying anyone is being ripped off, I'm just pointing out that numbers are numbers and you should pay attention to how YOUR business is being affected by the numbers that no one can change. Stripe is untrustworthy and will hold your money. Stick with Square or any one else that has a real customer service number
They all have their draw backs from time to time. None are perfect.
