MajorDook1 I can respect and understand that and yeah... there wasn't much to it other than simply re-visiting it and in the glory days of what I label the glory days of MotoGP... my favorite race is probably Catalunya 2009 between Rossi & Lorenzo... there have been so many great races in the past that's for sure!
MajorDook1 Yes-yes! I also liked the Sachsenring (2005) I want to say race... it came down to Rossi and I think Gibernau(?) but it was like within a few tenths-of-a-second at the finish... Phillip Island has seen some great races along with that 2008 Latina Seca race between Stoner & Rossi... so many memories and love it all. It's good to see Rossi still being able to push and race... I hate that Hayden was killed back in 2017... the sport hasn't been the same since like 2010 or so...
Francesco Zanellati Great natural talent, no doubts! A huge psychological inconsistency unfortunately! Probably was also handled by the “ wrong “ people and advisers too...
@@paponeable yes! we had real marquez stil riders then and didnt appreciate. hopkins, melandry, ant west. but the show wanted boring ass riders on uncatchable machines with boring races and champ winners. rossi, casey, crazy fast, but w crazy fast bikes. no last lap stuff. and when rossi was wild, riders got pissed and cried if touched.

It is funny how these two were writing Valentino Rossi off as a has-been in the year ending 2005. He went on for another 15 plus years as the top contender for many, many more exciting races. The Legend.
Mad hearing them comment and contracts and teams not knowing where anyone is going and there has been no races this year and several of the riders have signed
Thanks for this MotoGP, but it was an odd choice of race to post - almost no overtaking. I hope you’re planning to upload many more. Some 02, 03, 04 would be brilliant.
In 2005 Gibernau was crazy fast, but mechanical failures, bad luck and, because of them, lack of confidence relegated him to a seventh place overall. It also made the championship a little boring, with no true rivals for Rossi.
Hayden looks "too big" for the bike, even the windshield cant cover him much...But I think, those days tire degradation level was different from today GP :O
@@apaansih2863 there was already some electronic controls, traction sensor probably already there too. But not too much like today, everything from tire slides, power transmission from gear shift, rpm, and throttle blip are electronic programmed. Good rider with bad electronic team will surely be doomed today. Marquez team is absolutely the best tho.
The 2005 season Last time Telefonica Movistar Honda season with Gibernau and Melandri to hunt their first and final win for them and team Last action for Max Biaggi to making impact in 2005 champion with his partner Nicky Hayden Also, Valentino Rossi try to get his 5th consecutive title from the back of the grid!
Really great racing, but unfortunately the video quality on these old videos is absolutely terrible! In a time when we're able to upscale and colorise 100-year old hand-cranked films to 4k/60fps, somebody somewhere SURELY has software that can de-interlace, sharpen and update the look of these (not that) old racing videos?? :-)
That future didn't happen despite Nicky winning a championship that was a struggle. Rossi was still the man. Stoner, Lorenzo & Marquez was the future in a few years.
Love these old races ... simply would be great if these guys wouldn't talk all the time ... maybe somebody should have told them that it's TV and not radio ... no need to tell me everything I can see on screen
Does anybody know why Hayden was slipping his clutch going into corners? (unless the video was mirrored and what looked like his left hand was actually his right?) They must've had slipper clutches even back then. Someone educate me please.
They did have slipper clutches. But I remember Hayden saying the honda had some issues with the clutch with 05-06 bikes. So it could be that he was trying to mitigate some problems with it
Rossi in 2005 had 11 wins and 16 podiums in 17 races. One of the most dominant seasons ever.
I am so glad MotoGP is putting these vintage races on here -- I feel as though 2003-2009 were the better years of the Grand Prix
This was a pretty boring race though.
@@DoctorxofxArt Agreed, that 2009 Catalunya race was definitely a top 5 race of all time

I couldn't follow Motogp then so this old races is completely new to me.
Nick Harris's voice is a legend
It's great that Motogp is posting these vintage races...since there is no motorsports now.
Perhaps some vintage races from the 500cc era?
I'd love to see 500cc races!!
A big thanks from NZ to MotoGP for putting these videos on during this time of isolation and lack of 2020 GPs.
They had Rossi retirement talk all race. 2020 Rossi still racing lol
@64 still 15 year later. If true
Extra 10's lol
Nick Harris retired before Rossi lol
I wonder...what will happen to MotoGP if rossi retires...will the audience reduce?
But I think this talking was because Rossi thought to join the Ferrari team in F1
Valentino Rossi is a legend for a reason!!!!
