You can get an Xterra pro for 270 dollars or a simplex lite for 199 both great detectors. I have the Xterra pro also a Vanquish, Nokta double score and several others.
It's a kids toy, good starting detectors for adults are the nokta score or the nokta simplex, the minelab vanquish series, or the minelab Xterra pro But if your budget is higher I recommend a nokta legend or a minelab equinox, I have the nokta legend If you plan to get in this hobby hardcore I suggest getting one of those detectors, much better separation in the iron If you are going to dig up parks, I recommend the predator phoenix shovel, it digs perfect cone shaped plugs it has a parabolic shape that other shovels don't have Those cheap detectors do that where it makes a sound then you swipe over again and the sound is gone, it just doesn't give you repeatable signals like at 10:20, that looks very frustrating
Thanks for the info. I've already started looking into getting a better detector. This has been great for getting me interested and allowing me to know that I'm into this, but it's clearly lacking in capabilities. I'll check out the models you suggested.
@@Never_Enough_Outdoors there's also the xp deus machines and the minelab manticore, but they are more advanced, legend and equinox are both machines you can grow into, start off just running it in the stock program and change settings as you get used to it
A few RUclipsrs I watch are 'paystreak superfreak', 'treasure outdoors', 'rdogg' I learned a lot from paystreak superfreaks channel, I binged a bunch of his videos for months when I first started out

Thanks for the tip.
Good luck with the metal detector. Best wishes from Lancashire, England.
Thanks!

Thanks. I have one of those smaller shovels also.
Do you know anything about Garrett detectors?
@@Never_Enough_Outdoors Garret detectors work but not worth the price, the use older technology, some people swear by them but I avoid them
