It's a shame. I really think that the UFC brass is behind the scenes nervous... after what outside the ring BS they dealt with concerning Jon Jones and Conor... that Tony with his shaky mental issues might be a "risky" or unpredictable champ if he was their bigtime face and star. And that's lame and disappointing, because it's a totally different thing. Tony works so goddamn hard, his ethic and skill can't be denied. He has issues outside the ring, but he is responsible and seeks help dealing with them, and he is public about it (...which sadly probably worries the UFC more, though...). Tony isn't getting arrested, or partying, or beating women... he has some legitimate head issues, and meds and therapy can keep him on balance. Twelve consecutive wins, and the incredible rehab he achieved with his joint injuries? Fighting literally everyone, and making them all look outclassed? *Tony truly deserves a chance to be champion, and to win it in the ring.* Screw the money, the UFC does this guy wrong. He is deserving of a title fight, and he earned it in the ring the right way.

Tony is a well rounded creative and unpredictable fighter and with a great work and fight ethics, because Tony is such a great and creative striker and often finishes his opponents with knockouts, lot of people are forgetting that Tony's got some high elite level 10th planet jiu jutsu grappling and college wrestling championships and wins. If Ferguson is going after Khabib he will change up his fight tactics and strategies to be fit against Khabib's wrestling, we will see how that goes. Khabib has so far fought some decent or good striker based guys like Rafael Anjos, Barboza, Al, Conor, but none of them were really high level grapplers or wrestlers. Tony's wrestling is often forgotten, but the guy is low key (not very well known or mentioned) strong in wrestling and grappling, add in there with creative and unpredictable strikes Tony is a monster.

When Khabib couldn't take down Tibau he was in big trouble and his performance was poor. Meanwhile Tony improves vastly every single time we see him. This Tony, and the Tony from 5 years ago are completely different fighters. He is unreal, make no mistake about it.
