- In this cake decorating tutorial, I will show you another way to use the sliced fondant technique, and this time I achieved a marble affect! I also wanted to use a modern fall color scheme. And why not throw in some chocolate leaves??

The subtlety and delicacy of this palette is just heavenly. Smooshing all those contrasting colours together without making mud though, that’s a joy to watch.

I think you'd really like her work and find some inspiration if you check out even just her short videos. Mary , to stick the fondant onto a bc cake , is shortening good to use. I have a cake in July,weather wise its pretty warm. The cake will be outdoors too . Any advice for this. I dont want the fondant falling off.
If you are drapping it over the entire cake, I would not use anything. As the cake comes to room temp, there will be some condensation, and that should be enough. If you are paneling, I would probably spray it with a little water first, wrap it with the fondant, and then place it in the fridge.
@@sophisticakesbymary I saw somewhere they used heat spray. What are your thoughts?
