Mark it was so nice meeting you at the race. My 9 year old also enjoyed listening to you. You make some of the best videos and if it wasn't for you I would never have known about the SILVER STATE DIRT RACE. P.S. for any of you who have never had the pleasure of meeting Mark... He did not know myself or my son. We are new 1 year into the rc hobby. He was nice, kind, as well as a real pro for the industry. Thanks again for your time. Ed and Zach
Hey Mark! Great stuff. Glad you got to see the races. The 1/5th scale scene is actually exploding! So many things going on right now. On my channel alone i have met soooo many people and great friends in this wonderful 1/5th scale community. I personally own like 4 of them. I have featured the 1st annual Worlds 5th scale races and the 2nd annual over on my channel. Welcome to the 5th scale community 😊 Looking forward to more on your end. Cheers
@@bluegroovemodelsports9650 When we got the Losi really thought it would only come out maybe 3 or 4 times a year, but the driving of it is on another level it comes out almost every week
Large scale RC is where it's at. I used to watch 1/4 scale Sprint cars and Pro Stocks at a dirt oval track called Outlaw RC in Southern California back in 1991.
I had a losi 5ive with a OBR 32cc and bartalone pipe, and that thing ripped! wish more folks were into them but i know they're loud and need to have the right space to run em
Nice! I owned a Losi 5ive B once (built it as an electric car on 8S) great fun 🤩 I prefer electric over gas powered. Ok, gas gives you longer running times. But with a couple of lipos to switch out you can still have a lot of fun 👍🏻
My 5ive T has been sitting in my RC trailer for 2yrs+ now......its in great shape, I may have to break it out soon for a rip. The 5th scale scene has sort of died down near me (in N.J.) Seems like when I bought one, everyone slowly got out of them. lol
I have the 5ive T 2.0 it looks slow driving, but if it hits you game over. They are faster then they look it’s just the size that fools you into thinking it’s slow.
Fifth scale is insane but the cost is nuts! Buy a fifth scale, throw another grand (probably a lot more) in upgrades and parts and you'll just start to be competitive. Not for the faint of heart! 😳
YUP. GREAT STUFF. ONE THING THO.. 1/5 SCALE RCs COST ALOTTA $$$$$ TO RUN AND KEEP UP. BUT. WE ALL LOVE BIG RC CARS. AND. WE ALL GOTTA HAVE AT LEAST 1 /5 SCALE CAR ON OUR STABLE 😁😉👍👍👍. SMASHED !!!!!!!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
I didn’t know they were running 5th scale out in the back. Those things are huge. Mark saw you on Sunday but you were busy working on your buggy and I didn’t want bug you. Next year when you come out for the race I will bug you. Wanted get some of those cool MSM stickers. Good luck in your race this afternoon.
@@MarkSantaMaria I promise next time I will stop you. I have got a lot of questions to ask but I want wait until I start put my Revo together. How did you end up?
Killer-the 5th scales are awesome, the noise and space thing does put them at a disadvantage tho- Keep up the good work Mark, keeping us U tubers informed with new Stuff
Thanks for covering all the big races !! I enjoy all the behind the scenes at the track. I'm in San Jose Ca. It's all 10th scale. Watching your videos I'm itching to buy an ebuggy and hit some of these big races. Keep the great work 👍
Yeah mate it is fun driving 1/5 scale machines, it’s addictive and you’ll definitely have fun with your losi 5t, I’ve been watching your channel for a while now, great stuff, keep the cool stuff coming mate 👍
Really been enjoying your content Mark! Large scale stuff is really taking off especially those of us who bash there 1/5. I don’t race my 5ive most of the racing seems to happen on the west coast area. I know there are a few races out east. But there is a much larger community of bashers out there running Custom one off rigs myself included. Get your 1/5 scale outta storage and get it going it’s a blast and the 5ive Platform is awesome right out of the box. Cheer!
They run for 20 minutes but depends on the size of tank they use and the tune and engine size I can get anywhere from 30-50 minutes with my 2 stroke RC car.
That sound is like a scaled down version of our local 3/4 midget racing. Super Loud! Thank you for the look at the 5th scale stuff there massive. It was interesting & the pit area looked like a pro pit row. The truck bodies are my favorite.
I have 3 5th scale trucks. lots of money into them. I started when I was young with nitro, tried electric never liked it. a true hobby enthusiasts is a 2 stroke 5th scale
Awwwww man, that track is too small for those 5th's makes em look like slow old noisey slugs. When you get the correct scale track those 5th scales are awesome, they are fast and weigh enough that they drive like the real deal as much as possible at that size. Love me some 5th.
I have a random question: how do the sandy tracks keep the sand from forming clouds of dust with so many cars zooming around? I was at a local amateur sandy track and it was so dusty I couldn't see my car at times through all the dust.
I'm in Texas by the DFW where would you recommend I take my Sledge to race? Also I know I have to keep it 4s. Are there any restrictions to the gearing?
@@MarkSantaMaria also it's gonna be my first kit. Love working on them and thinking about trying out racing here in tacoma for the first time; just to see what it's like.
I can't help but notice how nose heavy they are. 10th scales at least are fantastic at pulling up the nose in mid air with juicing up throttle. These however nose plant often. Fun fun fun oh yes! Just something I noticed.
I know this unrelated, but when I just opened up my first hobby grade RC, a traxxas bandit XL-5, and after I changed out the gears for the high speed ones, my car started making a different whistling noise, apart from the brushed motor. Is that bad?
ditch the second channel and focus growing this one. colab with other tubers, get more sponsors, sell products, ect. want to see you quit day job and do this. your good enough. I watch alot of rc tubers, you can pull subs man. facts
