i couldn't agree more. but at the same time, i just want us fans to have them to ourselves. haha :) but, yes... they DO deserve it. Matt is a phenomenal songwriter.
One of their best songs yet. Definitely off what I consider the second best CD... They've never done anything I didn't like. MT is a genius of epic proportions.
I adore this song. I have every one of their albums, which adds up to 79 songs. I am going to see them live tomorrow, and I am way excited! This is one of my favorite songs by them.
i'm sorry. there's not a word to convey how awesome these dudes are. banjos, vibraphones, toy pianos? i heard people list these instruments. i'm trying to picture ther bands using these instruments, but nah, only rk can pull this off.
I remember this came with the CD I got (Five Score and Seven Years Ago) and it was awesome! I'm gonna see them live in a few weeks. I hope (and bet) they're as good live as on recordings, judging from this wonderful performance.
i'm in love with their music. matt is amazing. he inspires me, more than anyone could ever know. i want to work with him one day so bad. gahhh. haha :) this is such a great performance.
There actually is an original version of this song that was released by Matt Thiessen's solo project "Matthew Thiessen and the earthquakes" on a compilation CD about 2-3 years ago. I'll post again when I find it.
Nobody said you couldn't view it the way you do. But the way you worded your comment made it sound like you thought the metaphor was the band's intention behind the song. Nobody's forcing anything. I suggest we all stop being so defensive and enjoy the beauty of this song.
people seem to be misunderstanding the interpretation of this song...it is a clever metaphor of Jesus "faking his own suicide" so we would notice him. A.K.A dying the death on the cross that we deserve to save us from our sin, and raising from the dead; the part of us that died along with him referred to in the song is our sin. Amazing song, and beautiful metaphor, glad a friend explained it to me or i would have missed it!
@LiveLaughSoccer1 the lyrics are saying to me that he's faking his suicide for a girl so she'll realize that she loves him and poof! he comes back to life.
whoaaaaa! i've never seen you comment anythingggg. hahahah you're NORMAL! get out! kidddingggg. anyways yeah they're great. i totaly forgot about them....well not forgot....but yeah until you tweeeted about them and i was like oh i remember them *crying* hahah not really but yeah.
@amgceg PSHHHH NOT AT ALL I HAVE A PICTURE OF HIM ON MY MP3 AND I'LL STARE AT IT FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES AND LIKE REALIZE I'VE JUST SPENT 20 MINUTES OF MY LIFE STARING AT A PIC OF THE CUTEST GUY ON EARTH IT DEFINITELY WASN'T A WASTE THOUGH :-)
I love RK to death, they're my favorite band of all time. But I hate this song with a passion. My friend died of suicide my freshman year of high school and it's not a thing to joke about.
@LiveLaughSoccer1 Look, let's get something straight. If you've asked for God's forgiveness, you're saved from the punishment for ALL your sins (including suicide) for as long as you live. There's no biblical evidence to support that one simple sin like that could wrench you out of God's hands despite having been saved. That idea contradicts everything salvation means.
@anbujosh89 I'll write you a letter that You'll keep Reminding you your love for me Is more than six feet deep You say aloud that you Would've been my wife Doubt it was about Jesus lol
What a quirky wack song !!! I must be too for watching LOL!!?? There is a BANJO IN THERE! Banjo's a happy instrument played loudly, but here it's subdued and, sort of quiet... well damn now that's confusing... hmm!
i couldn't agree more. but at the same time, i just want us fans to have them to ourselves. haha :) but, yes... they DO deserve it. Matt is a phenomenal songwriter.

They sound even better live. Great band.
i'm sorry. there's not a word to convey how awesome these dudes are. banjos, vibraphones, toy pianos? i heard people list these instruments. i'm trying to picture ther bands using these instruments, but nah, only rk can pull this off.

@LiveLaughSoccer1 the lyrics are saying to me that he's faking his suicide for a girl so she'll realize that she loves him and poof! he comes back to life.
yeah he definitely looks kinda like skywalker
i just looked now i never noticed that before
it's not suicide....it's a sacrifice.
i dedicate dis song to my guy friend! his girlfriend broke up with him ='(
whoaaaaa! i've never seen you comment anythingggg. hahahah
you're NORMAL! get out!
kidddingggg.
anyways yeah they're great. i totaly forgot about them....well not forgot....but yeah until you tweeeted about them and i was like oh i remember them *crying* hahah not really but yeah.
Arghh I wish I had a banjo....
quite a few actually.
The Sherlock Fandom has arrived*-*
does anyone else think of syxx when they hear this song?
the uniqnes is in here,
@amgceg PSHHHH NOT AT ALL I HAVE A PICTURE OF HIM ON MY MP3 AND I'LL STARE AT IT FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES AND LIKE REALIZE I'VE JUST SPENT 20 MINUTES OF MY LIFE STARING AT A PIC OF THE CUTEST GUY ON EARTH IT DEFINITELY WASN'T A WASTE THOUGH :-)
This song was inspired by the movie Harold and Maude... according to Matt himself.
XD dave looks like hes stirring something in a bowl!
the guy singing
a BANJO???
3 dislikes were blind people, they meant to click like but their isn't brail on the internet.
Man I know how this feels... If only it would work. It would suck if you tried this and she didn't care...
the end sounds like the end of the sex and the city jingle. just sayin
i hate country and this has that country sound, but they make it sound so good...so, good good good...so good!!!
I love RK to death, they're my favorite band of all time. But I hate this song with a passion. My friend died of suicide my freshman year of high school and it's not a thing to joke about.
what up with the glockenspiel?
okay, am i like the only one who gets lost in Matt's eyes?
Thats a vibraphone By the way
ha yeah i kanow how ya feel :-) i suppose im not ashamed of it though :-)
Wow, I dated a guy like that...
yes!!! this is a christian band....
WTF BANJO+XYLOPHONE?!?!
Lol
HAHA . dont get me wrong.. i love dave;
but dave looks like he's cooking something in this video XD
Is there anything that man cannot play? o.o
the band members are christian and they sing songs about their faith so I guess you could say they are a christian band
I faking my own suicide It's like me lol
ha yeah just an exaggeration but still me and my friend get a little over the top about some things :-)
Jesus did not fake die or commit suicide. This song is no metaphor. If it were, it would be completely undermining Christ's sacrifice.
and not every band should use it imo, it'll turn stale

@anbujosh89
I'll write you a letter that
You'll keep
Reminding you your love for me
Is more than six feet deep
You say aloud that you
Would've been my wife
Doubt it was about Jesus lol
What a quirky wack song !!! I must be too for watching LOL!!??
