      Whats the trick?

    • @lesmercredis
      @lesmercredis 3 года назад +121

      @@moonlightdelight Lol it's super simple. Once the rice is washed, take a finger (index, middle, or ring), and, pointing it downwards, touch it to the top of the rice. Then fill the pot up with water up to the first knuckle. This seems to work with most white rices and most rice cooker quantities, but you learn to adjust for different amounts and other types of rices.

    One of the most difficult thing in speaking Mandarin for a non-native to master is pronunciation and Katie was able to repeat so many of the words back without a hitch. As someone who used to teach the language, I can tell you she has a talent

    • @bluforrestleaf
      @bluforrestleaf 3 года назад +9

      Maybe it’s because shes good at not clinging onto the accents! I think personally the hardest part of learning a Chinese language is the tones. Pronouncing the words is a breeze when you have the accent (if that makes sense hahah)

    • @rachelcookie321
      @rachelcookie321 3 года назад +8

      When I was learning mandarin the hardest part for me was the tones. I can remember the pronunciation easily but the tones are hard to remember as it’s not something we need to remember in English. And that is why I’m learning Japanese now and not mandarin.
