- Can Jasmine make one of Rie's favorite foods she ate growing up (chawanmushi)? The catch? Rie can only speak Japanese! Ok, now how about with no lifelines?!

ALUMINUM FREAKIN FOIL 😭
Lol and Katie knew what it meant😄
Tin foil doe 😩
I just have to say that Jasmine is very very smart 🙂
Rie was actually crying
I'm Japanese and it's so funny because your pronunciation is PERFECT the whole time yet you have no idea what it is😂
"I don't even know what this is in English!" is such a bilingual mood.
😂 she’s probably trilingual she’s half korean too. Cool. But as a bilingual myself, I sometimes know the english word but don’t know my native word 😂
@@cookliet8444 Honestly, I never seem to think in the right language 😂 I'll be talking in one and lose the word but know what word I'm looking for in the other even if its not a "sentiment lost in translation" word. Any advice, one bilingual to another?
Such a bilingual mood! When I first started learning English, there were areas in my life where I wouldn't even need to used it, so I didn't learn certain nomenclature until later in life.
@@nataliahassan1920 well the best way is to watch more videos in the language that you are learning. The more listen to the language the more you think in it. At least that's my experience.
@@trinhvietanh9521 My problem isn’t that I don’t think in a language it’s that I think in different languages depending on what I’m thinking about or who I’m with. I speak 4 languages fluently and occasionally will lose a word and know it in all the others and then remember it after it’s no longer useful to the conversation
Rie : You speak fluent Japanese
Jas : I COUNTED TO 10!
NiNhOnGo JoUzU
Ie 😭😂
@@DanielLiNeutrinos literally my first though 😂😂😂
The funny thing is, I had some Latin lessons a while back, and obviously I learned to count from 1 to 10, but now I don't remember 1-5, only 6-10.
Jasmine: (flexes her skills in Japanese)
Rie: “No lifelines for Jasmine.”
She really didn't need it 😂😂
Lmao 🤣😂
Right 😖🤣😂🤣😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hiiiii
What’s lifelines
Jasmine: Literally counts to ten
Rie: No lives for you 😊
😭😭😭
I couldn't stop smiling while watching this. Their chemistry is incredible. More Rie and Jasmine please!
saaame!
Yesss!
Literally
Jasmine’s lineage is so fascinating: Taiwanese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. That’s already an amazing bunch of diverse relatives.
Its relatable to me since my relatives (distant or otherwise) are spread across east asia (but mostly japan & southern china)
My dad is from Korea/Hong Kong and my mum is from Bangladesh! I love the diversity and all of the amazing foods of all three cultures!
* sits here in malay and chinese *
*sits here in Chinese and Chinese *
* sits here in white *
The fact that she got everything else but tripped up on aluminium foil 😂
Lolllll
Please never discontinue this series!! The chemistry between everyone is sooooo charming! Everytime they laugh or smile it's impossible for me not to as well. Can't wait to see Rie try this with Jasmine!
But she did try it with Jasmine….
@@who6471 Sorry for the confusion, I meant the reverse! Can't wait for Rie to follow Jasmine's instruction! :)
@@1992djodan 😂😂dw you’re gd
Yess!
The aluminum foil part was hilarious, she really was blanking out lmao I cant wait for Rie’s turn on this
I think Jasmine's guessing power increased so gd due to the translation series 😅 😭🤣
Yes
I think the reason Jasmine is so good at this is because of all those translated 20 times episodes
Jasmine: I know one word in Japanese
also Jasmine: *understands almost everything*
This is why we should never flex our language skills on others LOL
The pfp XD
Your pfp💀
Your pfp and username- 💀
This is true
I love that almost all of Jasmine’s knowledge was from similar-sounding words and food
To be fair, there are a lot of similar sounding words across east Asia (and some in Southeast Asia) that primarily originated from Chinese. Jasmine knows a bit of each language, so it'd be easier for her to guess a word if it's similar to something in the other languages she speaks.
In addition to "Make it fancy," "You do you." should be another Rie phrase.
Hearing Rie say that so casually sent me. Totally didn't seem her style. Next thing we know she's gonna be like "Pop off, sis." next episode.
I would watch a whole series of Rie teaching people who don’t know how to speak or speak very little Japanese how to cook. 🥺🥺
I love how rie complementing you is like a BIG ACHIEVEMENT at tasty...its so cute❤︎
It’s more fun watching someone who has a little understanding of the language and is trying to comprehend the instructions, rather than plain guessing 😆
Jasmine and Rie both have the most bubbly personalities as chefs and friends! More vids including them Please but this time, Rie makes recipe in Jasmines’ Chinese or Korean.
I love this collab!!!! Rie and Jasmine have such a great friendship! Also, I’m convinced that jasmine is secretly an under cover spy agent who actually speaks every language!
Wasn't surprised that Jasmine did well in this, must be all the training from recipes being Google translated a hundred times. HAHAHAHA.
Because of the way her hair is, for most of the video Jasmine's shirt reads "vaca", which means "cow" in Portuguese, and I can't get over it 😭😭😂
6:21 Also, I'm grinning so hard at how Rie held up a cutting board to tell Jasmine color Blue.
I am smiling + laughing the whole time, I thought Jasmine + Katie + Kelly combo would only make me laugh like this but Rie + Jasmine is on another level. 😂
Rie and Jasmin's laugh makes me so happy ,I don't know why.......
I can't lie, this was mad entertaining 😂
Jasmine going freehand with the rice wine was the somehow the funniest thing ever 😂
Rie is literally cooking mama irl and you can't tell me otherwise
🤣 love it when Rie went "She knows! What's the point of doing this?" 😓
CC: "speaking japanese"
yes... thanks CC very helpful
I think because she does the translated recipes she has an advantage lol
Their chemistry is insane! We need more Jasmine + Rie episodes!!
"Rie! This is not like you!"
🤣🤣🤣
this feels like a mother and daughter cooking after the daughter just came home from college and forgot how to speak japanese
love this duo already
See theres a song of bts known as run and they say "Dashi, Run Run Run " and in like a lil bit japanese its like "Broth, Run Run Run" that part got me killing 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣💜
This is so fun and it’s so wholesome to see them connect in a way through a different language and making connections with both their knowledge of different languages!
Ooo next time rei tries cook and jasmine is speaking mandarin? 😀
We need Japanese lessons from Rie.
And also laughing lessons from Rie.
Great thing of linking prior knowledge and mix of words lol yes!👏🏻 nice one she sure is wise!
One day, I want to turn the tables and have Rie make a dish aided by my instructions in Bengali.
Durr baana
That's what I was thinking lol
Imagine giving ilish paaturi recipe 👀
By guesswork based on Sino-Japanese kanji readings, Japanese food and cooking terms, cooking logic and the already known numbers, she's done perfectly.
I remember rie from you draw I cook!^^ I always loved her dishes!^^ 💕💕💕
I feel like this would be a great activity to do in a Japanese class!
Man, Rie and Jasmine have got mad chemistry! They're so good together. And they're crazy beautiful on top of that. Rock on ladies!
Looking forward to more!! 😄😄
It’s a Rie-based video. I’m here for it!
日本語理解してるJasmineさん本当に凄い!Rieさんが言うように発音もめっちゃ上手👏もはやRieさんが日本語話しているのが新鮮に感じる…笑
Jasmine: *counts to ten* Rie: NO LIFELINES FOR YOU!!
Does Rie secretly have an all-Japanese recipe channel? Bc I would 100% love to practice my Japanese with her recipes. |D
I think Jasmin has been boosted thanks to the twisted translated recipes she makes. She can easily decrypt steps.
I love these two together you guys should give them their own show/ series permanently ❤️❤️❤️❤️ They are so funny i was laughing with them the whole time they are so great 😃
YESSSS Love this series!!
This was so fun to watch I enjoyed that Jasmin was able to more or less understand it and their chemistry was great so much fun!
i love they personalities together it was so much fun!!!!
They should really add in cooking when you're learning different languages
They were so good together! I can't wait for them to do another cooking segment together again.
omg this was the most entertaining one of these yet... keep em coming
This is one of the best of the series 😂
OH YES! THE DREAM DUO I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG!
What we've learned from this:
More Sake is always the answer
YESSSSSS SO GOOD!!! now i want to see jasmine teaching rie something in mandarin!!!!
I absolutely adore this video! 💕 Kept me laughing and entertained the whole way through!
I really love this video! It helps me recap my basic Japanese that I just finished learning in school! Can we have more of these please 🥺 also love the chemistry between you two hehe, with love from Singapore 🥰
Omg we need more of them together seeing their chemistry work together so well is so fun hahah!
this combo is great. More Rie and Jasmine!
I’ve never clicked on a video with Rie in it so fast!!
She’s so nice for speaking easy Japanese.
I also make daily food RUclips videos from Japan 🇯🇵
rie speaking japanese is so nice to hear
Yesssss we need jasmine to do Rie
Jasmine speaks mandarin and she knows a bit of Korean. You could really see how this helped her in this challenge. As a foodie and a language nerd, this was fun to watch.
Switch it around for next time!
I love the way Jasmine understands EVERYTHING, apart from the most English sounding item that Rie says lol
Jasmine is just so into the challenge, like she's competing for something. I love her energy. ❤️❤️
Thank you for the update, Tasty..!! I remember eating them in Japanese and Korean restaurants when I ordered combo dishes..!!
Jasmine is such a fast learner for Japanese I love it
6:29 のさっき言ったじゃんが突然自然でかわいかった笑
We need another video with rie and jasmine 😭
more rie & jasmine combo! they're so fun!
Lmao, not rie realizing she needs to up her sake game😭❤️
I didn't know what she was making but that serving bowl brings me back all the joys I had eating that egg appetizer in fancy Japanese restaurant
These segments are so much fun for a Japanese learner. I learned a lot of Japanese 😄
Jasmine: **flexes Japanese**
Rie: "omaiwa unshindiro"
"Nani!?"
Isn't it "omae wa mou shindeiru"?
OMG tho actually... Stuff in Japanese sounding similar to Chinese being a lifeline is 100000% relatable XD it def carried my vocab learning :P
This is the most Rie laugh
Jasmine: "My other side is half Taiwanese, half Japanese. I'm half Chinese, half Korean"
My brain: "Only the Avatar, master of all four cuisines, can bring balance to North Asia"
PLS MAKE ANOTHER ONE 🥺🥺❤️❤️I love you guys as a team!!!!❤️❤️
I like when rie accedanteally said "chicken" loll
Ah relaxing after a stressful day
Rie: こします(Koshimasu)
Jasmine: Christmas...Christmas...
😂Too cute I love this video
"I usually wash my mushrooms" is the point where I usually exit the date.
Rie and Jasmine together is pure joy!
I hope that this will be a series. I want more of this
Since this was so easy Katie is REALLY gonna make the next challenge living hell lolll
Something I really liked about this episode and I think would be a lot of fun for future episodes between these two was Jasmine identifying words based on Mandarin equivalents or by foods she's seen the words used in before. I really enjoyed hearing her verbalize her thought process on how she figured out what words meant. I know some of the understanding came from "logical next step" like washing mushrooms followed by stemming and slicing, so a slightly more difficult recipe would be a lot of fun, I think.
After so many translated recipes, a recipe in another language is no challenge for Jasmine xD
"Ready" in Japanese and Korean is exactly the same LOL same thing with "Family" and "Promise"
Love them both
なんでこんな日本語分かるの!アルミフォイルのところ面白かったです😂
I actually like that Jasmine understands some of the words. I enjoy it more like this than when they are just guessing everything
I think this is one of the smoothest episodes of rie explaining a Japanese recipe!
