  • Can Jasmine make one of Rie's favorite foods she ate growing up (chawanmushi)? The catch? Rie can only speak Japanese! Ok, now how about with no lifelines?!

Something I really liked about this episode and I think would be a lot of fun for future episodes between these two was Jasmine identifying words based on Mandarin equivalents or by foods she's seen the words used in before. I really enjoyed hearing her verbalize her thought process on how she figured out what words meant. I know some of the understanding came from "logical next step" like washing mushrooms followed by stemming and slicing, so a slightly more difficult recipe would be a lot of fun, I think.
