Let's hope that Rockstar will work on Bully 2 after the release of GTA 6. I don't think that there will be bigger projects like RDR 3. So that could be a big chance for Bully 2 or Midnight Club.
In my opinion I think they won't because of how much controversy it will bring. The first game had tons of newx coverage of controversy. Some of you may ask "why? All their games bring controversy anyways." Well since it will take place in a school setting and with all the shootings and whatnot happening in the country. I think a school topic would be a uneccesary pain for Rockstar. I could be wrong (I hope I'm wrong) but that's my reason why I think they won't make a sequel.
The beauty of a Bully 2 could be that just like Bully 1, the number of NPCs could be fixed, say, 500, unlike the other Rockstar games where they're randomly generated, this could potentially allow for the creation of extremely in depth relationship systems, way more in depth than GTA or RDR2. Like, you could potentially have a separate reputation meter for every character, and it could be dynamic based on how many times you greet them, insult them or beat em up. Could also lead to hilarious results when you inevitably beat up every single NPC one too many times and now you can't walk around town anymore cause everyone, from little kids to policemen, attacks you on sight
Yeah Looking at what they did with RDR2 was Amazing. The vaierty of NPCs in RDR2 was insane. Seeing what They could do with a smaller scale game would be Amazing. They could even have a branching story for Bully 2 and a faction system.
Rdr1 had something like this, almost every npc roaming the world was a named character with preferences to do things like gambling or working but they didn’t remember you.

So he’s like the janitor who cleaned rockstar’s office and got a peek at a bully 2 build once or twice which is what I want to believe because Swegta is pretty reputable but I don’t know. One final note, if you are hiding the identity of a person you’re interviewing especially if there is actual recorded audio of them, you don’t use a text to speech voice you pitch it up or down, that’s how anonymous interviews have always been done.
Very cool to hear about. Shoot, I played Bully when it first came out in 2006. I was 14. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve played through it by now. So many good memories from that game. Ive always kept an eye and ear out for Bully 2 info but as we all know, it has never come to fruition. Bully fan base is like no other! At this point I would just be happy with a remaster of my favorite game. I’m 30 now and I will still fire it up and play it every now and then. It was my outlet in high school and gosh brings back so many good memories.

Hey swegta, dunno if you’ll see this but I’ve been watching your channel a few years and recently decided to finally buy Bully for my iPhone. It’s honestly become my favourite rockstar game (even ahead of rdr2). Just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to the game and hope you’re doing well!
Welcome back! It's actually a really old intro. :P People didn't like it when I used it back it 2017 - 2018, but recently I've seen lots of folks asking me to bring it back. Kinda confusing, but I figured I'd start using it again.
I can honestly say that having it set during the summer time, and be a direct follow-up of the last game are both things I didn't think would be planned but... Both of those ideas only work in conjunction with each other. I couldn't imagine them getting away with not having the setting be in the school itself during the school year, unless it is a direct follow-up with the characters. But then again it is more far fetched that they attempt to make new characters based off of modern times, modern day American schools have become a nightmare and a political shit storm, there is nothing there to be satirical about that you wouldn't be accused of be too accurate and get shut down. It's best to stay with this timeless class that everyone from the 80's to the 2010's can relate to really well.
Hi Swegta you don’t know how proud I am. Look you brought me into the bully world and I did not know anything about it. I’ve beaten bully scholarship edition on the 360 and I though Jimmy Hopkins looked like Bobby hill from king of the hill when I first saw him. I feel like the best option for a direct follow-up would be to have everyone go home to a neighboring town, but then like with RDR2 actually have it be a new game world that neighbors the old one, either through old Bullworth vale or Bullworth town, and then at some point during the main story you would have to return to the academy which has been closed for the summer to do a stealth mission like when you had to break into happy volts asylum during the first game. And the entire academy could be a trespass area and a huge area of interest for old players to re explore. They could include parts of the old map several different ways, they could cut out New Coventry and the industrial district if they wanted or needed to, they could even cut out Bullworth town if they had to. I guess they cut really cut out everything except the academy and have you warp there but, I really think the game would benefit from being connected to the old map so you could walk between them like with RDR2. There are even a few areas preexisting in Bully that show where there is access to somewhere outside the map, like the closed off train tracks, and closed off booth tunnel.
I have no words, SWEGTA. A millions thanks for you for posting this. This is super interesting and incredible news and I just hope Rockstar seems some sense and remakes this once they are done with VI.
Wow after watching the video the bully 2 he's talking about a sounds like the bully 2 ive dreamt about for the most part. Sounds very interesting. Especially since he said they were going to push the boundary of a teen game.

The bigger we get and longer we keep this community of bully lovers alive and the better chance we’re recognized and possibly even influence a sequel one day. It’s hard to hold faith still but we have to , if we let the game die there’s no chance rockstar picks it back up

Interesting but I can see how a non-school setting clashed with the whole premise. I always felt like they could have returned to Jimmy in college dealing with the fraternities and sororities instead of cliques lol

They also interviewed Marc Anthony Rodriguez, a former game analyst for Rockstar’s New York City headquarters and one of the project leads on Bully: Scholarship Edition mentioned in a GameInformer interview that the game was like 6-8 hours long and some developers said that the grass growing and the AI remembering your actions were supposed to be some features.

Good shit, Swegta. As a former Rockstar employee in the NYC office, you did your research. Bully 2 was indeed gonna be a masterpiece. I was working for Rockstar between 2005-2015, so I’ve seen it all. Bully 2 was very, very barebone. Meaning not much development was done to it. It was going to be a direct sequel to Bully and Jimmy was indeed planned as the main character again. The game was indeed in development hell for years. Most of the features in RDR2 was from the ideas we shared and originally planned for Bully 2. I don’t think the game will see the light of day anytime soon, or not at all. I can’t give a solid answer for that. When I was at Rockstar, the script wasn’t even finished cause all hands were on deck in RDR2 development. Maybe one day I can share details of the cancelled OG Xbox version of Bully . Keep up the good work, Swegta!
The Warriors and Bully are not only Rockstars best two games, but in my opinion, two of the best games of all time. It's such a shame that they both their sequels were cancelled. It'll never happen, but I can still hope that they can get sequels one day. Imagine what they could be like on modern consoles.
I guess in lieu of a Bully 2 the best thing we can do is rewatch old movies that inspired Rstar games. Like The Goonies, Porky's, Karate Kid, Stand By Me, Kamp Krusty amd Stranger Things.

Fuck, he WENT HOME in the sequel?! That would've kicked so much ass dude. Part of me was always extremely curious about Jimmy's home life, so it would've been interesting to see him go back and we'd actually get to see his old friends he grew up with. Also extreme bummer to know Bully 2 still doesn't exist yet was the framework for everything I loved about RDR2's new additions.
12:35 I loved Max Payne 3 since day one! I bought it on release day and played it on my OEM PC with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640, it was a simple graphics card but damn was the game well optimized. It ran without issue on almost max settings with constant 60 FPS. The multiplayer mode was also nice and always played 2-3 rounds at night. I have only good memories of this game.
imagine if Bully 2 took place in college with a modern twist: today's cliques, join clubs, talent shows, dating, partying, get drunk/ smoke weed, cell phones, internet, drive cars, paintball guns, go to jail, get a job, and so on

I always hoped that bully 2 would a private university setting ending with jimmy going to jail, and then he would be the protag of a future gta game when he comes out.
I've always thought a Bully sequel would be such a financial success for Rockstar. I'm a story guy, but just think of the online from a marketing perspective for Rockstar. Creating your own character, going to classes and exploring the world with your friends, factions and just general customisation. Maybe add skateboarding and biking again. The possibilities for an online would be endless. Hell, Rockstar could even sell some skins for a backpack if they wanted to. Online could even have had a season change every couple of months. What I'm saying is there would probably be such a big market for it. Every kid would want to live out that fantasy especially online with friends, and adults too. Cmon Rock$tar!
It's such a bummer Rockstar has slowed down building games. Only focusing on the key franchises that make money online. I understand making games like Midnight Club is getting harder with permission from manufacturers. And Max Payne being a story driven GTA but Bully could easily compete with GTA and RD when it comes to online.

He says working on LA Noire broke him but the game was developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. I remember hearing this information like having a summer camp setting and the individual blades grass system from an old TheNathanNS video so he did not say anything particularly new. How can we be sure it's real?

LA Noire was initially developed by Team Bondi. But the game was ambitious and required way more resources, and crunch was heavy in Team Bondi. To mitigate this, Rockstar offered their own studios to assist the development of LA Noire and starting changing things in the game during development. They basically started removing or cutting things in the game that they didn't like. This caused a rift and misunderstanding between R* and Team Bondi. This caused in things getting removed and added to the game repeatedly and this lead to way more crunch. The developers at both R* and Team Bondi were crunching hard to get this game done. Once the game released, R* cut ties with Team Bondi. All in all, LA noire's development was a nightmare, That's what the developer probably means in the video.

Both of those ideas only work in conjunction with each other. I couldn't imagine them getting away with not having the setting be in the school itself during the school year, unless it is a direct follow-up with the characters. But then again it is more far fetched that they attempt to make new characters based off of modern times, modern day American schools have become a nightmare and a political shit storm, there is nothing there to be satirical about that you wouldn't be accused of be too accurate and get shut down. It's best to stay with this timeless class that everyone from the 80's to the 2010's can relate to really well.

I feel like the best option for a direct follow-up would be to have everyone go home to a neighboring town, but then like with RDR2 actually have it be a new game world that neighbors the old one, either through old Bullworth vale or Bullworth town, and then at some point during the main story you would have to return to the academy which has been closed for the summer to do a stealth mission like when you had to break into happy volts asylum during the first game. And the entire academy could be a trespass area and a huge area of interest for old players to re explore. They could include parts of the old map several different ways, they could cut out New Coventry and the industrial district if they wanted or needed to, they could even cut out Bullworth town if they had to. I guess they cut really cut out everything except the academy and have you warp there but, I really think the game would benefit from being connected to the old map so you could walk between them like with RDR2. There are even a few areas preexisting in Bully that show where there is access to somewhere outside the map, like the closed off train tracks, and closed off booth tunnel.
I have no words, SWEGTA. A millions thanks for you for posting this. This is super interesting and incredible news and I just hope Rockstar seems some sense and remakes this once they are done with VI.
Wow after watching the video the bully 2 he's talking about a sounds like the bully 2 ive dreamt about for the most part. Sounds very interesting. Especially since he said they were going to push the boundary of a teen game.

As a fellow person unhealthy obsessed with everything Bully and would do foul things for a sequel, im So thankful for this channel and that every time I go down the bully rabbit hole , I can almost guarantee that swegta has some type of new bully video posted , and without repeating and recycling the same old bs - even tho the game is over a decade old. great work swegta and your work is truly appreciated, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way too

it sounded like a pretty cool concept. i would have loved to see the 80’s-90’s vibe that bully 2 could have brought to the table. but if they were to actually start a bully 2 project again (if they havent already) i would imagine that it’d be so much more advanced now

They also interviewed Marc Anthony Rodriguez, a former game analyst for Rockstar’s New York City headquarters and one of the project leads on Bully: Scholarship Edition mentioned in a GameInformer interview that the game was like 6-8 hours long and some developers said that the grass growing and the AI remembering your actions were supposed to be some features.

Good shit, Swegta. As a former Rockstar employee in the NYC office, you did your research. Bully 2 was indeed gonna be a masterpiece. I was working for Rockstar between 2005-2015, so I’ve seen it all. Bully 2 was very, very barebone. Meaning not much development was done to it. It was going to be a direct sequel to Bully and Jimmy was indeed planned as the main character again. The game was indeed in development hell for years. Most of the features in RDR2 was from the ideas we shared and originally planned for Bully 2. I don’t think the game will see the light of day anytime soon, or not at all. I can’t give a solid answer for that. When I was at Rockstar, the script wasn’t even finished cause all hands were on deck in RDR2 development.
Maybe one day I can share details of the cancelled OG Xbox version of Bully .

The Warriors and Bully are not only Rockstars best two games, but in my opinion, two of the best games of all time. It's such a shame that they both their sequels were cancelled. It'll never happen, but I can still hope that they can get sequels one day. Imagine what they could be like on modern consoles.

I’m getting back into bully and man, it’s crazy how a game that came out almost 20 years ago still holds up. That being said, we are long overdue on a sequel. They need to get back to it after gta 6 comes out, there’s so much potential there. And hope u come back to making content I used to watch ur bully vids years ago

12:35 I loved Max Payne 3 since day one! I bought it on release day and played it on my OEM PC with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640, it was a simple graphics card but damn was the game well optimized. It ran without issue on almost max settings with constant 60 FPS. The multiplayer mode was also nice and always played 2-3 rounds at night. I have only good memories of this game.

I've always thought a Bully sequel would be such a financial success for Rockstar. I'm a story guy, but just think of the online from a marketing perspective for Rockstar. Creating your own character, going to classes and exploring the world with your friends, factions and just general customisation. Maybe add skateboarding and biking again. The possibilities for an online would be endless. Hell, Rockstar could even sell some skins for a backpack if they wanted to. Online could even have had a season change every couple of months. What I'm saying is there would probably be such a big market for it. Every kid would want to live out that fantasy especially online with friends, and adults too. Cmon Rock$tar!
It's such a bummer Rockstar has slowed down building games. Only focusing on the key franchises that make money online. I understand making games like Midnight Club is getting harder with permission from manufacturers. And Max Payne being a story driven GTA but Bully could easily compete with GTA and RD when it comes to online.

He says working on LA Noire broke him but the game was developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. I remember hearing this information like having a summer camp setting and the individual blades grass system from an old TheNathanNS video so he did not say anything particularly new. How can we be sure it's real?

LA Noire was initially developed by Team Bondi. But the game was ambitious and required way more resources, and crunch was heavy in Team Bondi. To mitigate this, Rockstar offered their own studios to assist the development of LA Noire and starting changing things in the game during development. They basically started removing or cutting things in the game that they didn't like. This caused a rift and misunderstanding between R* and Team Bondi. This caused in things getting removed and added to the game repeatedly and this lead to way more crunch. The developers at both R* and Team Bondi were crunching hard to get this game done. Once the game released, R* cut ties with Team Bondi. All in all, LA noire's development was a nightmare, That's what the developer probably means in the video.
Allot of Rockstar worked on the game. The heads of Rockstar had to step in during the last 2 years to get it out the door.

Good interview, you got alot more details out of them than I expected....but what I don't get - why would somebody under a NDA say they were 1 of only 6 people who played it? After Sam & Dan, theres only 4 suspects left lol And they said they were the lead on it, so that 4 just got shorter. If these details were spot on, then it was wayyyy to risky.
