Each time swearing hed never care about anyone ever again. I remember him raging at carol to leave him alone he was tired of looking for people. He was always losing people he loved. At that pount he was sick of it. Too much pain. He also often said things he didnt mean when in pain. When Amy died and he said the group had it coming hed just found out that the group abandoned merle and merle cut his hand off to get free. No clue where merle was. He was in alot of denial about the truth concerning who merle really was. Daryl loved him but he also hated him. Merle was a dick but he was daryls brother. However daryls loyalty and compassion for loved ones is unrivaled.
I guess the most wounded people build an ice maden wall around themselves but there is a campfire inside and they are eating marshmallows. But if you can reach them they are serving marshmallows to you

You know what's weird? I have an oven burn I got as a tween when my dad was cleaning out the oven and forgot to tell me there was a hot oven rack in the sink. The weird part is that the burn is in *the exact same place* as Daryl's self-inflicted cigarette wound.
