Political agreements in Kenya are for inconvenience and not anything else. Ruto chose Gachagua because he had money and he knew how to campaign. He is a billionaire and after impeachment, he will live a comfortable life. He was so ambitious and ready to outshine Ruto hence the need to impeach him.

The problem with Mwaf's criticism of hov'tvpolicy is that he personalizes everything. He doesn't provide institutional causes that are much more important to understand if we're interested in changing Kenya.

The socioeconomic policies being undertaken by KK admin like Jkia-adani, Uni funding model, Shif, and Ketraco are not motivated by the greed of the President and other corrupt leaders. These policies are actually part of the Austerity Measures demanded by IMF and as Conditions for budgetary Support under the Debt relief program.
This is the root cause of all these policies. Any criticism of these policies must start here. The problem is much deeper and more systemic than corrupt greedy leaders.
The unfortunate thing is, political discourse in the mainstream and in independent platforms like Ikonini seem to be unaware of this important economic context that must be understood if changing the country is our interest.I.e If our assumptions are the problems we face boil down to individuals only and not the broader institutional facts then we are doomed. Changing individuals without addressing the systemic factors is not enough.
That is why it's crucial for emerging leaders like Morara to articulate ideas about how they are going to solve our economic problems that are deep. The focus shouldn't be on reforming the gov't and dealing with corruption. Of course, these are also important issues, but unfortunately, they are not the most crucial. It is time our politics become ideological.

@triplebeans4159 IMF don't come for you. We went looking after wrecking our economy for 10 years with huge debt. We were desperate. We currently been under a debt relief program with them since 2021.
Their programs are normally referred to as SAP(s) and are infamous in Kenya. They helped wreck our economy during the last ten years of Moi and are guaranteed to do the same again.
All the finance bills since 2022 have been crafted by IMF, together with the austerity measures.
Economic policies in Kenya are not in the hands of our gov't. That is a fact, and we must recognize it if we want to change it.
I don't like our leaders at all, but I don't think our problems are purely because of their characters. Systemic factors are much more important.
