Lyle, you've no idea how helpful these videos are. I needed to find out how to refit new rubber seals around the outside of the headlight and couldn't easily figure out which way round to locate the miriad rubber lugs. Freeze framing your video has solved this for me. Thanks!
Love your channel, you give the facts without trying to impose your preference on things. Just like the C6 Buyers guide video you did, you explain why you would pick the ones you chose not just buy this year range.
i want to paint the inside of my head lights. so my question is for how long do the headlights have to be in the oven, at what temperature and what do i need to remove so it does not get damage by the heat thank you in advance
Hi Peter! GM gets around $1300.00 PER HEADLIGHT, and that is IF they provide one in your correct color, which is becoming less and less likely. Thanks for watching!
@@csvette I'm not only a viewer, I am also one of your subscribers. Thank you much for replying. Thanks for the warning about color. I have a Crystal Red Metallic GS. Keep the uploads coming.
@@csvette After I read your reply, I said "screw that." I now have Morimoto's C7's installed on my GS. FWIW, I got them new for less than the factory ones. Whoa, I love them!
The clearbra definitely helps with rock chips and may help slightly with the UV issues, but these lenses tend to go bad from the inside out. Visteon (who made these lamps for GM) regrets ever taking on the project because of how difficult it was to develop a non-outgassing paint for them--the paint on the inside of those lamps is a completely different compound than what you find on the rest of the car. They also have had serious issues with fogging on the inside of the lens in high-humidity areas like ours here in FL. Thanks for watching!
@@csvette I bought a mint BMW 1 series today, will look into protecting it's headlights. Gas is too expensive for a Vette in Germany. I still got RWD & two doors though so it's cool. Good info
Excuse me? Rip off? Listen, Leonel: WE produce these videos at OUR EXPENSE and post them FOR FREE to help Corvette owners take care of their cars. How, exactly, am I ripping someone off? The headlights can be removed without fully removing the front bumper cover and the fenders, but it forces the installer to flex the urethane panels (and therefore, the paint) enough to crack the paint...are YOU going to stand behind your job and PAINT the customer's car when YOU mess up their paint by running short-cuts on your job? I doubt it. Let us do what we do, and you go ahead and do whatever it is that you do, ok? Bless your heart. Lyle

i’m doing the job myself and i can appreciate how much effort goes into replacing these. Removing the bumper was the easy part!!

Awesome video!! Thank you
Lyle what would the cost be if I pulled out the headlights myself, sent them to you and then reinstalled myself?

Great upload on the "how to" and related costs. Now, what would the price be from GM to just purchase the entire headlight? Save the Wave.

Great resource for anyone that owns a C5 or C6
Lyle, why are you not in NJ?? Man I could use your services here for my “NEW” 2011 C6 Grand Sport Convertible.
Check out Corvette Paramedics in NJ--they have been Corvette Specialists forever. :) Lyle
Yup, my headlights from my C6 are already yellowing and getting foggy.
Is it not better to cover the lens when in new condition with a clearbra and just peel it off ?

BMW is a sweet ride, too. My son drives an '04 Z4 that he absolutely loves.
..Most charge only 599.00 to 699.00. ( Zip and Ecklers) You guy's are a bit too much.
Parker, our price includes the removal and replacement of the headlights in the car. Big difference.
@@lyleaulwurm9486 ...Thanks for your response. Makes good sense now to chose you guys! I stand corrected!
Headlamp lenses are the worst thing about the C6's. Worst lenses in the industry. Why GM?
Rip off you don’t need to remove bumper u can pull lights out by losening bumper from fender 30 min job
