I lifted from 15 to 30, stopped for 15 years, started again at 45 and within 6 months I had gained back 90% of what I had when I quit at 30.
I need my muscles to remember 20 years ago. 🤣
That's why people don't need to panic about going on a 3-4 week vacation. You're back at peak in no time. Take some time off for peak recovery
Thanks, Dr. Wolfe! Nice to have a PhD in Exercise Physiology in the Health & Fitness community.
This happened to me after sitting around for a year during the pandemic.
Looking at the graphs, it appears that the group which took breaks gained almost the same amount of muscle in the end?
Muscle memory plus fat being an endocrine organ. The basics of the bulk and cut bodybuilding style.

Muscle is also endocrine tissue.
So is the advice to take some time off and if so, how long? Or does this mean nothing is lost if time is taken off as long as you get back in the gym?
It's easier to regain lost muscle mass than it was to gain it at first
"so that's why....."... Why what ??
Muscle memory is the secret ability of your muscles
The study is so obvious. What’s being observed is the unintended consequence of proper and recovery.
For the algorithm
