Unfortunately, two of those three hurlers weren’t ready for that stage yet (Burnes and Peralta were bad that year) and two of the big bats from 2018 (Shaw and Aguilar) completely lost it in 2019. Cain remained an elite outfielder but his bat regressed significantly. Two other pitchers (Chacín and Jeffress) also imploded in 2019 after really good 2018 seasons, and Knebel had to get Tommy John surgery. Yelich fouled that ball off his kneecap. When you consider everything that went wrong, it was actually pretty impressive that they made it to the WC game.
The 2019 Milwaukee brewers could've been an amazing team. Yelich, Grandal, Aguilar, Moustakas, Braun, Hiura, Shaw, and Thames is way too much power
