I’m new here. This video just popped up in my feed. Love Home Free and Voice Play and this whole collab is so good. Loved your reaction when you saw Tim! Priceless! There’s another big collaboration video by Peter Hollens with Home Free, and many submission videos from both of their Patreons. It’s their cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”. It was also done during the pandemic! It’s brilliant!
Tim and Geoff are actually friends have helped each other with the low notes. In one if thier live performances while on tour with they give each other a hug before performing Zombies vs Hillbillies. They need to get together and do a whole song. 😊 they can even invite Avi to join them Yes they have been around fir a long time. Geoff Layne and Earl actually meet and became friends in Jr High. And officially formed the group right after High School. Since then they've added new people as other have left for various reasons. We can thank Layne for insisting they keep up they online presence in the early years. Look at how far they have come
VP and Home Free competed against each other on the Sing Off ... many years ago and have remained friends ever since and they will often help each other out in production, so I wasn't surprised to have Tim show up in this. So yes, check some of the seasons of the Sing Off, PTX got started there as well and look how famous they've become
@@steveeverett1736 Eh, VP's performance on the Sing Off was not up to their usual quality standards, at all. If VP had been as good back then as they are now, or even as good as they were five years ago, they wouldn't have been eliminated early. Home Free was the only other group there that would've been able to meaningfully compete with them on those terms. But this was pre-Phantom; their idea of theatrics at the time was to do skits (like Road Trip or Auditions or the Chicken Song or A Crimpella), and they couldn't figure out how to turn that into the 3-4 minute pop songs the show runners wanted, so instead of leaning into their strengths, they tried to just do the same thing all the other groups were doing, and it's some of the most forgettable stuff they've ever done. I don't recommend any of it unless you are determined to see absolutely everything they've ever done. Even many of the songs they performed back when they were called 4:2:Five, are better than anything they did on the Sing Off.
Peter Hollens and Home Free teamed up for a brilliant cover of U2's 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' during covid quarantine. You'll love it.
Another great collaboration during the pandemic is Peter Hollens and Home Free’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m looking For”. They used their patreons to make this massive video. Soooooo Awesome!
I love this one. Zoom was an important part. Check out there cover of Journey's Don't Stop Believin' where they were invited to an A Capella camp of older kids who sang with them on this. Again, VoicePlay really steps up to show everyone what makes it happen.
Anthony Gargiula, the blond in the tan jacket at 5:02 has indeed been featured in a VoicePlay video. Golden Hour tells a sweet little story and stars Kathy Castellucci, Geoff's wife.
Layne arranged this and edited the video, so when he planned and wrote the parts he probably did it knowing who he wanted for each one. And with a project this complicated, he probably got their by-in, wrote them in, sent them their part. This is pretty much their usual process. Then people make suggestions for changes, they reach agreement, and record.... and in this case, film, probably at home. Then the arranger takes all of the bits and pieces and edits it together - a huge task, especially with something like this. In most cases, who ever takes on the arrangement, also does the video (planning/directing/editing) and initial audio edits. Layne and Geoff each do a little less than half, on average, with occasionally someone else doing one. Over the last couple of years, as their performances and videos have gotten more complicated, they share and divide more tasks, and Eli often takes on lighting, sets, stage design. Each one is a huge amount of work, and they do almost all of it themselves.
Geoff, Layne and Earl started singing together in school. When they added a 5th member they changed the group to 4:2Five. Somewhere prior to 2012, when they started their YT channel, they changed it to VoicePlay. They have now recorded with Anthony -- Golden Hour with Geoff's wife in a non-singing role, a few minis, and another full length video that will be released soon.
These are all guests who have now sung with VoicePlay with the exception of Tim of course, but who is a good friend and they had to include that humour. Thank you for knowing that Tim isn't Geoff, so many people try to say that they look exactly the same. And of course they don't. :) Each person would be given a part to sing then whoever put the video together would edit all the parts together. That's how they make most of their videos, Lot's of editing involved. Even Geoff has to do it with his own low bass covers, filming each Geoff seperately then editing it all together.
For some weird (Well, not SO weird, but...) reasons, this video always brings me to tears, just because of the joyous, friendly feeling it gives me. It sort of "incarnates" my feelings about friendship and cooperation and positivity. I just LOVE it. It touches some of the deepest strings within my soul and resonates there. ❤ Thank you for bringing it back to light 😉. Yes, Tim and Geoff (and Avi, according to something I read recently) are friends, and they appreciate each other, help each other, and have fun together (see "Survivor - Zombies vs Hillbillies" for proof 😁). Also, they don't like to be compared, and I ADORE this attitude. There's no competition among them. And that is one of the best foundations for friendship. 🙂 See you next time!
There's another video from the Covid days with Voiceplay featuring another member of Home Free, Rob Lundquist. Somebody please reply to this comment with the name of the song because I don't remember.

Wow! Also, if you like this kind of thing, look up "Live Aid" (also for HIV AIDS) which started with a huge London concert of nearly all British artists. Then it led to follow-up concerts all over.
I think it's cute how the girl in the beginning gets a great big smile when her friend comes in for the duet.
Your squeal when Tim Foust came in!!!! Love it!

Try the Bass Gang Hooked on a Feeling. It also has a guest appearance by your boy Tim. It's awesome
Absolutely!!!
That much talent on one screen, just mind blowing! Thanks for the reaction!
Take a close look at Geoffs' and Tims' grey streak in their hair. It's in the same place. Too funny.
The fact that in the lyrics they said it was planned made me laugh 😂
That squeal when you recognized Tim XD
That was fun!! Everyone sounded so good. Yeah I was surprised to see Tim too. Yay!😍
This is such a feel good song, and yeah Tim is just an added bonus.❤
So glad you fell in love with it too!!
Voiceplay and Home Free were on the same season of The Sing Off. You can find a collab cover of Survivor on Voiceplay's channel as a result of that.
Gurl. You have the correct response to Tim Foust. Me too. He is................well....... you know.

all three- Tim, Geoff, and Avi are friends. Scary that song would be if all three did it together.

Geoff and Layne have done some arrangements for Home Free. All those guys are on good terms.
Layne arranged this and edited the video, so when he planned and wrote the parts he probably did it knowing who he wanted for each one. 3:39 Best part of the video. Put a HUGE smile on my face
The reactor is CUTE in her fan girl mode.
VoicePlay has been around that long... since they (Geoff, Layne, Earl, Mykal, Scott) were still in high school.
And Tim and Geoff also were "together" in Survivor: Zombies vs. Hillbillies.
That's when it was called 4:2Five. Check out VP's Halo Theme feat. Scott Porter and watch his message at the end of the video.

She is amazing just like you darlin ❤️
You can see who arranged the song if you go in the description.
😂Tim 😍
The a cappella community is pretty interconnected and word can spread quickly when needed.
If you want to hear multiple basses, listen to Home Free's Ring of Fire, or, of course, anything by the Bass Gang.
Here for the Tim Foust Collab.

2 Basses in one video, does that mean this is now in stereo?
