Ben's been hanging out on Reddit (r/writing) and noticed A LOT of young writers who have unrealistic expectations for their lives and their writing in the moment. What would young Jason and young Ben say to themselves when they started writing decades ago? Guess you'll have to tune in to find out.

Some of my best memories as a teacher was witnessing my creative writing students find their voice, their confidence and their passion.
Ben, question: How does one know if her self-published novel should remain just that, or if it’s “time” to look for an agent and transition that novel from the self-published realm to the traditional one? It can be part of a series if I just start writing book two. I’ve done three book signings and doing legwork to get my novel on several bookshop shelves, but it’s not exploding on its own…yet!
This conversation is so beneficial for writers to hear. So many people think writing is or should be easy and flow effortlessly, but that is just not the reality for everyone.

I’m so glad I managed my expectations for the Launch 🚀of my novel. Maybe it was the teacher in me, or the perpetual student in me or the fact I’ve had my heartbroken way too many times in this lifetime lol.
