We did the cry it out method. Waiting for longer intervals before checking on them. Had regression at 6 months. Did cry it out again and it worked fine again. I see no issue with it. Max amount of crying we had was 10 minutes.

I don't like sleeping by myself, I don't like crying and not being comforted. I don't sleep through the night and I'm a grown adult, who was sleep trained. And I don't think that the Father denies us comfort when we are going through trials, so I don't find this argument valid. I'm a mom of almost 4, that are close together, and they sleep through the night most of the time without being trained. When they wake up they cry to us because they know we are there for them when they are scared. Just like I do to The Father when I can't sleep.

But children can cry from less than pure motives, like the desire to have things that aren't good for them.

Children can, it's the only way babies can communicate. I don't think that's an accident that God created them that way.
