My name is Tom Coppola, born and raised in Long Island, New York then my residency and fellowship in gastroenterology out there and moved to Louisville to become one of the newest gastroenterologists here. When I was in high school, my father needed a surgery which ultimately was life-changing for him and us my brothers and sisters and myself, so seeing his response to the surgery really solidified my decision to go into medicine. Right then and there, now and become a surgeon but being a gastroenterologist I feel I have the opportunity every day to treat patients of all different variety of ailments help them and hopefully give them the same experience that I got. I'm originally from Long Island, New York born and raised there went to undergraduate work out there in Long Island went to Erie Pennsylvania from med school came back to Long Island for residency and fellowship that are both with the same institution they're got brought here really trying to look for places outside of New York to branch out a little bit and when we came to interview at Norton we really fell in love with the city and then play on Norton Healthcare itself the traffic's definitely better over here in our Louisville than our or Louisville or whichever way they say but the traffic is definitely better here people are at a much friendlier pace than they are in the middle of Manhattan which has been nice to get them got to know them a little bit better, and lifestyle is a little bit more relaxed here for fun usually we love traveling my wife and I. We love going places it just got back from a trip to China. I'm a big golfer, a big sports fan they haven't been able to get on their links yet but I hope to you know change that soon and it's still a Big Giants fan even though I moved to a Louisville slow the big New York Giants fan.

Hi, Tom. It's Miss Liberti, your fifth grade teacher. Students pop into my head all the time and you were the "popee" this morning. Thanks to technology, I found you! Struck gold to have found thus video. Congratulations on achieving both personal and professional success. How hard you must've worked to be where you are today!
I remember so vividly you coming to Rhame Avenue School and in your quiet understated way, soon became such a valued member of our class and school. I remember your father and brother as well and how close you all were.
Believe it or not, I visited Kentucky this past summer. A retired ER teacher wanted to add Arkansas to her list of states visited, but first wanted to see the Abbey of Gethsemane where her uncle entered in 1931. Tom, you have settled in such a beautiful place with such lovely people.

I pray for all my former students and am glad I can now picture both Tom, the sweet boy,, and Tom, the handsome man!
