That’s right, yeah! Hello my name is Daniel Kean. I'm physiatrist of physical medicine and rehabilitation. I chose the field of medicine, I guess it was for multiple reasons. Growing up in a family of educators. My father was a phyisicna, so so one of the things that interested me growing up was science and watching him.
I chose physical medicine and rehabilitation, because it blended both of my interests; sports and science. I enjoy meeting people. I think I connect with people. I always try to treat my patients as though they are a family member and a lot of the things that I try to share are things that I do personally. So, in terms of good health in eating and exercising, I promote those things because I do it.
I grew up in Houston, Texas but I have Louisville ties. My father was born here, so I have my grandparents here and so summers were always spent back here in Louisville. After I graduated high school in Houston, my family moved back to Louisville, so I have roots here. I went to undergraduate school at Tennessee State University in Nashville and then did my medical education there also. Then from Nashville to Birmingham, Alabama at the University of UAB for residency and then to Virginia. So I’m relocating back to Louisville via Virginia.
Basketball has always been my passion and in fact I coached AAU for the last six years. But now since I'm getting a little older my body has slowed down, so I’ve taken up golf. So I’ve been playing golf for about the last 10-12 years and I’m pretty good at it I would say.
I have two children. I have son that’s age 17. He's a basketball player. And a daughter who is 10 and she has a fondness for horseback riding.

Dear dr Kean, you are the meaning to the word « class », « kindness « and « physician »
You TRULY consider your patients, as your family members.
I wish I could find a way to appropriately thank you for the way you impacted my whole life.
I am your biggest fan- Your patient of 17 years, Who travels from another state, so that you could treat me.
Thanks 🙏 for all that you do
