What do you think of the Geo Storm? Was this a terrible or amazing purchase?
And no, that oil stain on the concrete right in front of the Storm was from another car. Really! 😆

As long as you keep the Nova, you can buy whatever the heck you want. Was the Storm a compromise on the Trooper you really wanted to buy? Is it a prelude to the
eventual purchase of an Isuzu Trooper 4x4 via a stopgap Geo Tracker?

      I had a 93 Magenta. GSi.

Isuzu as a whole is severely underrated. The rest of my collection can be found on my channel.

Blurring it out at the beginning didn't fool me, I knew what it was right away, lol.
My brother in law once had a Storm in the same color. We once took it to a big swap meet, with 4 of us in the car. I bought a quarter panel for my '69 Impala and we crammed it in the back to get home. We of course drove with the hatch up and we held onto the quarter panel as we drove. Good times.

I'm a big fan of the Canadian-market Asüna Sunfire. It was a 1993-only version of the Impulse that retained the Isuzu's styling rather than the Storm's "mini-Camaro" look. It was only available with the 140hp 16v 1.8L engine and manual transmission. If Geo was Chevrolet's import sub-brand, then Asüna was Pontiac's in Canada. It was sold alongside the Asüna SE and GT (Opel/Daewoo Kadett/LeMans) and the Asüna Sunrunner (Geo Tracker) at Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealers. The Asüna brand was eliminated for 1994, and Pontiac re-used the Sunfire name on their J Platform cars beginning with the 1995 model redesign. (previously Sunbird) I have some fond memories growing up around a couple of these Asüna Sunfires, and they can be a lot of fun to zip around in.

The very first car I bought with my own money the summer before senior year was a blue 92 geo storm. $300, just needed injectors! Got it running, put some new tires on it and drove it for two years before selling it for $300 lol. It was honestly one of the best cars I've ever owned. So many memories and it never once left me stranded. It had this quirk that sometimes it would crank and not start but I figured out if you popped the coil wire off, cranked it a couple times then reattached the cable it would fire right up again. Most likely just needed a new coil. Thanks so much for this video. It sure brought back memories. Ps. I knew it was a geo storm as soon as I saw the blurred thumbnail haha. Keep it up!

Wish that was the only issue I had to deal with on my Teal 92' Storm. Bought it from my mom, she didn't want a manual anymore and said it drove funny. She worked on a one way two lane street. She couldn't parallel park at all, and had goose-egged all 4 tires, damaged all the ball joints, and bent a front control arm from constantly bashing curbs. Needless to say, I got it relatively cheap, LOL.

I knew it was a Geo, but I couldn't remember the Storm name. A friend that I worked with in 1992 had a new Storm wagon. It looked pretty cool. This is a nice blast from the past. It's a good addition to your nostalgia fleet. My 2017 Kia Soul has a 1.6 liter as well but it puts out 201 hp. Engine tech has come a long way.

I had two Storms when I was a much younger man. Absolutely loved them! They were fun to drive, surprisingly comfortable ride, and much more economical than my V8 winter vehicles. I would absolutely love to have one now, but NW Ohio's road salt is not kind to cars of that age, so you just can't find them anymore. And being disabled & on a fixed income now, the rare few surviving 80's-90's cars still alive are seriously overvalued on resale prices and completely unaffordable. You're pretty lucky to live in an environment that doesn't eat your cars alive.

In the 90s I had a mentor with one of these (teal, not pink). He's actually nationally well known in his field and was/is seriously well off (ok, rich). He was a polymath with many interests and the ability to pursue them - but cars was not one. I could never completely figure this choice out - not even the GSi - but for the fact that he lived in a historic, expensive and very cramped (18th century streets) part of the city, and this car just fit his needs. He was also a fairly heavy smoker and while you'd never know if from his houses, you certainly did form the car. The thing got no love. I sometimes wonder what he drives today - did he finally spring for something more in line with his income, or does he still fly international first class / club lounge and show up at the airport in a Mitsubishi Mirage?

I initially thought "magenta Ford Contour" when the image was blurred and parked, but then when you drove the blurred vehicle, I was like, "okay its either a Geo Storm or Isuzu Impulse". When you drop the first couple hints, that definitely narrowed it down to Geo Storm. 🙂
This Geo Storm is really cool as it is, even if its not the GSi version. I remember reading in a Sept 2001 issue of Sport Compact Car magazine where an owner had built a Geo Storm using a Isuzu Impulse RS parts car and literally swapped everything over from the turbocharged engine to the AWD system (which involved removing the Storm's spare tire compartment).
I wouldn't change anything on these though unless it maintenance; even the white hubcaps looks cool! Maybe switch the rear two (left to right, right to left) so they all look like it facing the same direction 😅
I'm not going to lie; I wished I had appreciated these type of cars when they were more common in the 90s and early 2000s. It was hard though with all my peers hitting VTEC in their Hondas and Acuras at that time.😂
You have a fantastic example of a Geo Storm here and its a manual!! And the interior looks immaculate! It looks like a keeper, especially if your child thinks its cool!
Congratulations, I would say this was a great purchase! Obscure cars rules!! Thanks for sharing 🙂

His products (and others like it) remove the faded clearcoat blotches and make the affected area shiny, but there is still a small ridge where the faded clearcoat was. It'll help the car look better without fancy paint jobs. Looks great regardless!

Neat little cars! I nearly bought one when I was younger, I test drove it and liked it but couldn't afford it. It wasn't pink though!

I liked the GSI with the eyebrow covers. I absolutely hated the Impulse twin compared to its predecessor. I had an 88 turbo and was so disappointed with the redesign.

I remember when these came out, the GEO line was very popular. It was an Isuzu Impulse, I've always liked the rwd Impulse turbo. Hard to find then, almost impossible today.

I love these! My aunt had a teal 91 that I learned to drive stick on.

I had one in college and regularly hauled friends in the back seat. Not that they were comfortable. And I could definitely fit my mountain bike in the back with the seat folded down. It was a pretty good road trip car for two people.

Oh man I love these cars! I learned how to drive stick shift in these cars. Rare ones are the automatic and like you said the wagon versions. I also used to buy and flip these cars. I missed my chanced to buy my 7th Geo Storm GSi. My favorite color was that blue one

Oh Lord... My first car was a '92 Storm GSi. Not my choice in cars either. I don't want to say it was a bad car, but I absolutely hated it. It was slow, the suspension was horrendous, and it was severely lacking in cargo space. I drove it for a couple of months and then asked my parents to help me trade it in on a' 91 Civic Si that I was much happier with. Drove that Civic for almost 20 years.

I thought it was going to be a Nissan NX2000. Then you mentioned it was a “dead” brand. I forgot about these, they’re so fun. The profile of this is so nice!

I knew it was a Storm just from the thumbnail. God, I miss my '90 Storm (non-GSI). Yeah, it was slow... but it was fun slow. You could just throw it around and it would go wherever you pointed it.
Moral of this story: You're selling it to me when you're done with it. 🤣

This may be a keeper for you. Thats one of the nicest left and in a 90s color. Its like a round nissan sentra sport coupe or nissan nx. Both small and have no rear seat space due to the roof/rear window, both 90hp but sentra weighs less i think
