- POV Handling DRIVE with the recently facelifted (MOPF) 2019 Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupé 4Matic. This particular has the optional AMG Performance exhaust and is powered by a revised 3 liter V6 BiTurbo delivering 390 hp & 520 Nm of torque (total weight: 1675 kg) Wow, Mercedes has really kept the character of that aggresive V6 note although this car now has particle filter inbuilt. Not only horsepower is up but also torque is available at a larger rpm-band. On top of that the gear shifts are even smoother....so overall a perfect package & well done! The interior alone makes me want one of these over the A-class sedan. Just a little pricey but if you have the cash to afford it and maintain it, its a very exciting car to drive and is worth the money.

Is the camera on your chest? Seems a bit too low, kinda scary since we can't see the road. That is fine though, we get a nice view of the car.

I actually chose the C43 over the C63. The C43 handled better, and was a better rounded car over the C63. AWD is fantastic on our LA canyon roads. I bought the cabriolet is it's pure joy to drive. Sounds different from the V8, but just as cool.
The current C63 makes brutal farts. No proper V8 sound at all.

If the car (pre facelift) has the exhaust button, does that mean it has performance exhaust fitted? Or do some cars with stock exhaust have the button too?
Rich W The button comes with the Performance Exhaust. Otherwise the sound will change automatically with the change of the driving mode.
You don‘t get the loud pops and crackles with the standard exhaust.

M2 is maybe funiest to drive im not sure, but the Mercedes interiors are amazing.

No way I'd choose an M2 over a C43. The AWD alone is reason enough and the interior is much nicer, IMO.

Can someone tell me why the transmission is labeled tct instead of mct like the other amg speedshift 9speed. &Even though that engine is technically related to Chryslers pentastar v6
engine. It sounds good.
Because it's still a torque converter auto but with reprogrammed shift patterns. The 63 engined cars have a wet clutch set up for a more direct power take off from the flywheel.

It’s a very nice car; great technical improvements have been made in this new version as well, but still in a matter of handling this is not on the same level of the Audi S5.

Not only is the C43 slightly quicker on a track, it's miles more fun to drive because it doesn't understeer nearly enough.
And you can actually drift it, unlike the S5.

Does the performance exhaust increase horsepower or is it just sound?
Nitric it’s more sound but if you have it in sport + then tightens up the suspension gear box hold the gear longer and throttle response is sharper ! So in all feels more aggressive

jd fd I have heard both next to each other multiple times and the C43 is a lot louder but if you prefer a v8 growl then the C63 is the one.

V Devotion - if you're even contemplating about an E9x M3 make sure you're aware of the rod bearing issue. As much as I like it, that alone had made me discount the older M3 as a second-hand purchase. Too much trouble unless you're an engine mechanic or find one that had the bearings replaced (not with stock ones).
sounds good that is this much slower than a none s c63 amg coupe automann thinking of one of these over a c63 amg but I like the wider arches at back on c63

Stan_man ja gut supersportwagen hab ich mal aussen vor gelassen, ich fahr ja auch keinen 918 Spyder und vergleich den mit nem C43 ;) RS2 sagt mir grade gar nichts, RS3 Sound finde ich grauenhaft künstlich. Boxer, insb Sauger klingen einfach schön, ich fahr n 997 GTS, für mich klingt er perfekt, nicht zu leise aber auch nicht zu laut und mit dauerhaftem Missfire bei jedem Furz

Persönlich find ich ja, dass einem 911 kein aggressiver, lauter Klang steht, sondern relativ leise und dezent, dennoch mit dem typischen Boxersägen. :)

I just don't get why this had to be all wheel drive. Would be so much more appealing if it was rwd only. Also, awd = not a real AMG. The way it is now, its just a wanna be Audi S4.

The face lift is 400bhp not 390 but if you Dino the face lift you well see it’s over 400bhp 👌🏽
In the US, it is 385hp. Once the transmission warms up, which takes a lot of time, somewhere between 5000 and 6000 rpm, i believe it produces up to 400 horses. I believe if this car was allowed to rev up to 7000rpm, it could easily produce 410 horses without a tune.
