Same here! Was lucky enough to find a ten pack with this exclusive Porsche yesterday in Australia where eight of the ten cars were licensed. On discount as well!
We still get 10 packs in australia and ive used the packages for my loose mainline collections for years now. Makes a tonne of sense! If we change to 8 packs here that will annoy me but it is what it is.
As you said, it's economy driven, but I'd rather have 8 castings that I'd like to collect than one or 2. Spending 10 dollars on 1 or 2 castings SuX. 4:50 That'd be the main reason I'd get that 8-Pack, but they can at least put wanted castings in there and omit the fantasy castings.
I don't mind paying more so long as I get 10 different cars in every 10 pack. We still get 10 packs here, but I haven't bought one in three months, because they seem to be rehashing the same cars in every pack. What they are doing is literally putting the same casting in four waves. Take the lime green Growler for example. I love Growler and I got that one, but at least give a blue one now. Also out of 10 cars there are at least 5 mainlines. I don't mind if they are mainlines I skipped, but I buy the 10 packs fro the exclusive cars. I don't care Licence or unlicence I love them all so it makes sense I'm pissed to get less cars. Also I already have the Speed Spider, Chevrol8r and that Marco Ruse soccer car from last month 3 packs .I also have use for the packs to store another 10 cars inside so it sucks they made it smaller. This reminds me of potato chips. Same price, more air in the bag.
Its 1.19 for a hotwheels at Walmart and 1.25 for one at dollar tree. So the 8 packs are well priced i just hate how many fantasy casting it comes with. Normally at most id buy 4 out of the pack lol
@@pillantechvideo It is more to do with economies of scale....Walmart orders so many Hot Wheels that they can demand from Mattel a minimal cost per unit.... Here the market is small (the population of the whole country is less than 4 million), toys are luxury items, we don't get every Hot Wheels case. So Hot Wheels are much more expensive than in the US, but things like organic vegetables are much cheaper because they are grown locally.
And i guess 10-packs in Europe will become 9-packs as well...less packing materials isn't really an excuse for the shrinking, but the 8-pack does look more practical for storing multi pack exclusives. Maybe putting more exclusive colors in these will make people buy these more easily.
Australia still has 10 packs. 10 packs are $19 ie $1.90 per car. Mainlines are $2.00 per car. We only buy 10 packs for the exclusive and other recolours that are not in the mainlines. Usually you get 5 good cars and five fantasy. If they drop to 9 packs and keep the price each car will be $2.11. Not worth buying. If they increase the price it’s even less of a deal.
It's all fine with crappy chocolate and kid's toys but it's the food staples that bugs me (all food packaging has been shrinking for years in an attempt to hide inflation).
beware of the 6packs....maybe they'll come with tab ring...for a quick grab.....lol over here in South Africa normal singles are now on the cheapest U$2.50 ! ... 5packs are U$14 !! dnt get me started on the packs above that
I'm perfectly fine with them downsizing these. I don't buy multipacks, cuz I'm a one and done kind of collector so if I already have a good version of a lot of the cars in said multipack I have even less reason to get it, but this also means the singles aren't as affected by inflation.
An odd quirk of mine that this size box will frustrate me with? I like to get a multipack box & fill them with a particular box. I have a 20 full of Ford Escort RS1600s, 10packs with R34s, H/T2000GTXs, Datsun 510s, Lamborghini Aventadors, Huracan 610-4s, Huracan Trofeos, Porsche 934s, 17 Acura NSXs, McLaren F1GTRs, Sennas, 720s and Ford 66 Mustang 2+2s. The gaps in the boxes help me to store extras and customs of those castings. Losing the gaps will definitely be a hindrance to my storing, so any 8s will mean I can only collect smaller sets of a casting that are discontinued 😕
Well if they would stick to more models that the collectors want they would make more money. I said this back when Matchbox was fading. Matchbox did more realistic models and I think their sales have soared. I understand they are kids toys but there is more junk on HWs pegs these days than on MBX. Still more warmers than I'd like to see but it is what it is.
Inflation is really hitting hard. Just recently, Burger King released a 8 piece fiery chicken nuggets lol. I told the guy at the window, how much for 2 more nuggets lol 😂🤷🏼
Will hot wheels 8 packs turn into 7 6 packs will hot wheels still make mainlines for the rest of my life because they have here since 1968 definitely yes
I hate the stripes... It's like they're trying to copy the Weisach pack off the real cars. But the 991.1 GT3RS that this represents, idk if it was existing at that pointt...
In my opinion, Matchbox is doing much better with multi packs than Hot Wheels. Matchbox puts more desirable cars in their multi packs whereas Hot Wheels puts in fantasy cars. Just the other day I bought a five pack of Matchbox and all five cars were actual cars! I looked at all the Hot Wheels five packs and only two cars were actual cars and the other three were fantasy cars. In my opinion, Hot Wheels five packs is a waste of money. Again, that’s my personal opinion…
That's some great logic there nickle and dime the consumer waste million's on trash movies no one asked for, same with Disney on the edge of going bust after wasting billions uses the most cheapest and unreliable delivery service from there official online store in the UK that being Myhemres / Evri.
Man they REALLY need to let go of that mentality on "a dolar car" and focus on QUALITY. All they have right now is quantity and sneaky ways to try and fool their customers. Look at this fucking pack, this is ridiculous. PLEASE, make you "dolar car" a 1,50 ~ 1,60 and put some quality to your products. Children do not want little cars since a long time ago. Focus on your REAL market, which is adult collectors.
Always find it strange when sometimes there are tail lights but usually there aren't. I think full headlights and tail lights should be the standard on all hot wheels. I would pay an extra additional dollar for full headlights & tail lights
I utterly dislike HotWheels multi packs except some 5 packs. All the 'rubbish' mixed with desirable models of 'real' cars....why, oh why HotWheels? And baiting one with an exclusive with all kinds of 'rubbish' is pathetic
I'm okay with the 8 pack. The only thing if anything I'd like if they had more details to the taillights.
or maybe they should put 6 real cars and 2 fantasies
@@kuza4378 yeah, but they would loose money
Ahhh shrinkflation has hit the multi-packs, nice 👍🏻
I just bought this exclusive Porsche here in Australia although we are still getting them in ten packs.

Not a bad move but in this case the 50/50 split is discouraging in terms of "fantasy & the likes"
