I seen a guy at Walmart in woodbridge returning a few hotwheels sets and immediately gravitate towards the return side and I tried to take a video of him, and he ended up leaving the store in a hurry 😅😂😂😂 what a 😸 I been on a mission ever since to expose some lame poor boy's doing this.

I’ve bought many 8’packs for just one car
    Now I have maybe 100 cars I don’t want

I’ve seen that and wondered why the cars were different
    Good to know

I live in the Greenville, South Carolina area and someone in our area has been returning many of these multipack swap out. They even do it with the premiums too.

Maybe they had that as a custom wheel swap and took the wheel's of and just hat them wheel's laying around and put it together to get that missing casting 😅😂 poor boys😂 🤦‍♂️

People really scam out for a hot wheel? Who ever does that clearly doesn’t get laid.

Its been going on for many years and part of the problem comes from the high resale prices of Pack Exclusive models for people's collections. I happen to collect the Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 (like the white in both your packs featured). Three of mine in blue, purple and red have been pack exclusive models and are quite expensive to buy individually.
What i tend to do is try finding one with a load of ones I wont mind having, perhaps a couple I really want, keep the box for adding future versions of one casting in (say like Datsun 510s) as collection packs and I get rid of the unwanted models. If a pack costs £12 here, it's sometimes worth having one with 4 or 5 models you like and make use of what's left over to trade etc.
Just a little point. Don't steadfastly assume that any two multipacks are identical from the factory. Sometimes, of 9 or 10 cars, it might be 5,6 or 7 of the models are identical & some are added randomly.
I think it was 2018, I spotted an odd thing in Asda (was UK Walmart) which was a 20 pack containing a very unusual thing. Amongst the cars was a Target exclusive black/red VW Caddy (also an error) which wouldn't normally be for sale in Britain, as we dont have Target shops here.
Whether it was a "swap" or not, I didn't care because I collect the Caddy and it turned out to be quite rare, more so because it wasn't assembled properly (unspun error I think).
Yes, its awful when someone switches a good model for a turd, but this can only be solved by tracing someone via a name & address when a pack gets returned by a customer and might've been tampered with.

I have seen errors before, I once found a Game Stop Exclusive car in a Multipack At target. So it does happen. But you can 💯 tell this one was a scam.

Why would some do this? One reason is just to get your money back and get a few free cars.
I have seen on other videos too. It has been done on diorama sets too. Sadly most people do not know about what cars are what.

    • @andrewphippsphillips1455
      @andrewphippsphillips1455 7 месяцев назад

Not necessarily "free" cars (unless stolen from other shops from blister packs) as they have to be purchased. Some people want the Pack Exclusive models that aren't available in mainline range.

@andrewphippsphillips1455 I forgot about that but thanks the reminder. It would be a shock for a person to see that drilled out car though. Even non collector would have to know something is up. As for customs, I have some from mild (wheel swaps, repaints) to all out take apart, rebuild models.

Almost every other car I buy has a factory error on it I'm sure it's possible to have factory errors in the packaging

At my local Walmart...they just rip and pull out the car they want. As a side-note: seems similar problems occurred with the Amazon Black Boxes according to reviewers.

Ya I got caught in that Amazon black box scam once.

The concept of the Black Box was good...especially for those who didn't want to purchase a case or had limited time to go hunting.@@Spent2MuchDiecast

TBH that 8 pack has cars I already have. I would only be interested in the exclusive colors of Track Ripper, Pharodox, and possibly Track Hammer.

Last month, I was lucky to grab an 8 pack with a Matchbox 2019 Mustang GT and most importantly, a Matchbox 1970 Barracuda in it. Someone grabbed an exclusive and something else, but I was the one who benefited because I got two that I wanted anyway. 😅

An axle can be glued into a tiny bit of pipe without the tabs. Just use a bit of wire inside. This was a good heads up for other collectors. Subscribed.
