Hello lovely peopl! Have you sewn with Fibre Mood magazine yet?

I haven't tried any patterns but I really love the styling, so fresh and modern. I have bought some issues, I really like the Paris top, so I might try that soon.

I have used their leah jumpsuit pattern and it was an absolute joy to sew (very easy) ! thanks for taking us through the magazine I have been considering subscribing vs just buying the individual patterns from their site and think I might go with the later now :).

Hi, i love this magazine. I find there patterns so on trend. And I love flipping through there nice stylish pages. The ease is more like a indie pattern, nothing like burda. Normally the list the finished size as well. If you go online you can find detailed instructions. Very good clear instructions I have some friends, that are new to sewing, who started sewing with these patterns. I'm curious to see what you will make. Happy sewing

Thank you so much for the tips! I hadnt seen the finished garment measurements so will go look out for those. I use those to choose my size.

I made the Roma coat back in November, didn't buy the magazine but bought the pattern (and some more) online. I love sewing that coat. and it's lovely. I am especially fond of their size inclusivity, which is something that really annoys me about burda, their plus sizes usually look quite boxy and overall have a style that I don't like. in my opinion.
I really love the style of fibremood. I wish I knew where I could buy them in Germany. Also with knipmode, I love what you showed us in your browsethrough of knipmode.
I am currently planning on sewing the filippa shirtdress by fibremood in a lovely striped tencel (it's got big poufy sleeves!).

oh, and I forgot I made the Mira dress! to go with the Roma coat. look at me! already two patterns sewn!

I recently bought issue no.7. I plan to sew the Dagny pinafore. I also bought the Mira dress online. But I am not sure whether the loose boxy style suits me. I might need to add a belt because I look terrible in boxy clothes. I bought the Mira dress anyway because I liked the style on other people.
I buy my sewing mags at big newspaper shops (Zeitungsladen) at major train Stations or airports. But I live in Berlin. It might be harder in smaller cities.

Personally not a big fan of Fibre Mood. Styles are quite simple and the shaping is often boxy, especially in the bigger sizes. I agree with your thoughts on the line drawings and the size of the content.

Boxy is not a good look on everyone. These issues Hila showed us, made me think that the magazine would be good for those who want to dress modestly -nothing wrong with that, just that not everyone is into that.

I like Fibre Mood. Patterns are stylish and easy to adapt. However I'll happily miss the odd issue as sometimes nothing in an issue grabs my attention. Their patterns are straight forward to trace and sew compared to Burda. Having the two different instructions is good. I believe The Camden Stitch gave a good review of an issue last year.

This might be a silly question or you might have said it already, the instructions are in english correct?

Yes - they have an English version of the magazine. You just have to make sure you are ordering the correct translation.

What do you mean stylized about the line drawings? I thought they look normal and the more photos the better which shows it like it is. What language is the magazine?

The line drawings look like sketches. Normally line drawings do not have any shading to indicate light perspective but these do. The mag is in Dutch, German and English. Also French.

@@SaturdayNightStitch Oh! i have a small collection of patterns from the early 1990s. they are close to Simplicity patterns - as not a full magazine, but 1 or 2 pieces that could be altered in a few ways. And i liked the pattern for a track suit. the instructions say just this: how much fabric you need, how many pieces you need to cut, and what type of pieces (sleeves, legs, etc.) as well as what other notions you might need and then it tells you that you have to sew 4 rows of elastic in the waistband of the pants, that they have no zipper, and to double-check the length of the pants and sleeves before cutting. That's literally IT! Cut what? not sure - the paper pattern or the fabric? your guess is as good as mine, XD. so, there you have it: worse instructions than Burda, hahaha XD I kept on turning the pattern on all sides and in all directions to see if there's more: nope! obviously, it was for someone with at least some sewing experience, and not a complete beginner. Although, considering there were not many pieces to cut, even a beginner might be able to figure out, especially nowadays -thanks internet and youtube XD
