What a fun final to watch - Steingruber has improved tremendously in her execution and expression and I'm so happy to see her having success here (I honestly would have put her above Fragapane, but they were close). Pihan-Kulesza is still so impressive (she's 26 or 27?!?), Claudia finally hit in a big final, and Afanasyeva had a glorious return after two long years of injury. I'm sad Fasana didn't manage to sneak a medal, but excited to see what comes next for her - I hope she can be the next Ferrari. :)
Ksenia Afanasyeva's floor score seemed a bit low, though Claudia Fragapane's routine was well scored though... But Ksenia's should've scored at least a 15.000 in my opinion, but at least she got the gold! :)
The thing that struck me most while watching this is how much gymnastics has changed in the past 15-20 years. I remember watching even the best gymnasts in the 90s and wondering if they were going to make it all the way round in their passes, most landing with their chest way down on their last pass. All of these athletes are SO athletic and powerful these days. There are fewer expectations for them to look like slight little girls--they can look like the powerful athletic WOMEN they are. It's exciting. Here are my thoughts, for what they're worth: Kharenkova-- A clean performance. She's so powerful for being so small. Marta Pihan-Kulesza--5 turns are only impressive if you don't fall out of them. Take it down a notch. But I liked her choreography. I also feel like she ran a mile for all of her tumbles. Erika Fasana--This chick can TUMBLE! Giulia Steingruber--I love her. I think she's a great all-arounder and she's improved her form so much in the past few years. I hope she stays healthy. Munteanu--Well that was a Romanian routine if I've ever seen one. Clean, tough, and safe. Amy Tinkler--The Brits have done a great job in the past 5 or so years improving their program and have great difficulty, but their execution is lacking (I think in ALL of their athletes). But, considering this girl is only 15, the USA better buckle up if she starts improving her form. And her hair. ;) It's a pretty severe bun. Claudia Fragapane--That second pass was cool, especially if she ever manages to seamlessly connect it to that shushunova thingy. She's so athletic, but her choreography is kind of distracting. Ksenia--Ugh, I LOVE her. Such a professional, such a mature performer. I still think she has even more room to upgrade her tumbles. She's always a treat to watch.
WOW i love watching/listening to BBC commentary. I love the Brits so respectful, kind about every gymnast-people who RESPECT the sport. I HATE NBC I have to sit through their shit :/
@@josephqualtier961i was gonna say.. and it’s even worse in this quad because she literally coaches one of the star GB gymnasts (alice) like she’s so unbearable and biased to them
I feel Fasana's routine is very much underscored in this event. She had 2 H-value tumbles and she nailed almost each of them. Execution must have been higher.
Further proof that BBC is not as objective as people like to think. They're still my preferred channel for gymnastics viewing, but goddamn, they really dance around their own gymnasts' mistakes. Afan clearly had better execution. Messier landings, inferior form and lift was what let Claudia down. Claudia was great but Afan was noticeably cleaner and more refined.
Yeah BBC does overrate their gymnasts but at least they're not like NBC that promotes their gymnasts by bashing others. I personally prefer universal sports with Amanda Borden and Bart Conner but that's my opinion
I don't think they are really that bad. They mentioned the start scores were the same but during Afan's floor routine they really commend her for clean landings and her preciseness and form. Obviously which commentator would NOT wish and keep their fingers crossed for their own athlete that did a good job as well to maybe take the gold when it is so close? I wish for the British girls to work on their execution. Looking back at Beth Tweddle for example, she had amazing form and did some pretty difficult stuff as well. Learn from her! Get them into ballet training to really work through the legs and the feet. In my humble opinion the British girls (I'm just talking about the floor routines in the final now) lose some tents here and there from. It fully extending through the knees and ankles. A fan is high up on Demi pointe when she dances in between tumbles and really pushes through the knees which makes it more elegant. British ladies work on your form! You got the difficulty! Keep rocking gymnastics like you have since 2012 and I can't wait to see the women's AA in Rio!
The form of Claudia was very bad, and she walks straight to the corner for every tumbling pass, which is costly. However I don't the spins for Afa should be given that credit. But Claudia's E score should be lower than 8 given the execution for Afa. So, Afa deserves that.
I understand that they are subjective to their own country's gymnasts, but I hate how they discredit those who won. Although I do prefer BBC over any other commentaters any day. But someone PLEASE get Beth Tweddle out of there..... She is VERY annoying
Sarah Molina what are you talking about???they just wanted their own gymnasts to win and they were disappointed when not,but they never humiliate, diminish and speak badly about other girls...from what the NBC does, there is a huge difference.... And you ignore as they get happy, excited and joyfull when one of the girls does it well and don't fail. They are the few that do it with all the girls.
Since u added this comment will it change anything...... offcorse it wont they wont change d whole commentator thingie for only one hateful comment in fact i bet u beth does not care
It's just Christine that is awful. She is a NBC level biased commentator. Actually no. Despite the fact that they're complete arses, the NBC commentators actually have the right to pull a "we're better than you" card sometimes. Ksenia was the clear winner.
Christine Still just called Kharenkova a beautiful gymnast. If she's talking about her physical look, yes, she's very pretty. But if she's referring to gymnastics, then she's highly mistaken. Lol.
Emmy Johnson By "classical" you mean, skinny body? Because I don't find Kharenkova artistic on FX. She's stiff, her tumbles are subpar, not dynamic on leaps. She's messy all over all, and it shows on her E score.
Kharenkova tends to get stiff when she gets nervous which we saw last year as the year went on. Kharenkova does have a classical style, she has good interpretation. Last year at cottbus she looked so good artistically and then by Sofia it started to go away. Here she looked good but she stiffened up again, so nerves. She's not messy though she needs to fix her landings.
OH my god Ksenia's performance was so beautiful!!!!!!
I still watch it in 2021! Superb and to me what Artistic Gymnastics should be all about
I wanted to see her in Rio!! What a shame she got sick and couldn’t go!
Afanaseva's DLO is in a league of its own compared to the other gymnasts, so clean and beautiful
oh i love pihan - kuleszka routine. She works that panther theme so well.
I love you, Afanasyeva! :D

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo , veo que eres una persona con sentido común y experiencia, gracias por tan buen comentario, saludos desde Panamá
I love Steingruber's music!
Me encanta la rutina de Xenia... gracias por el video...
I love ksenia's floor routine! If only she's in rio
whtat happen to the camaras... i get dizzy.
Afanasieva la mejor por lejos😉 en otro nivel, se notó su maestría y su larga experiencia, bravooo!!!
WOW i love watching/listening to BBC commentary. I love the Brits so respectful, kind about every gymnast-people who RESPECT the sport. I HATE NBC I have to sit through their shit :/
I agree. it's nice to hear all positive comments not just what went wrong like Tim D. and Al T.
samarztk except Craig. Can't stand what he says and his voice.
Christine is so painfully biased though😭their commentary can be pretty terrible sometimes too

She's quick. Great skills!
Amazing final
Всё большие молодцы, особенно тройка первых. Всё отличницы
omg yes Afan QUEEEEEN
Congrats Cauldia and Kensia! can't wait till Worlds and Rio!
*ik its late is but claudia and ksenia
I wish they'd stop switching camera angles, it is really annoying!
Do you have the bbc coverage of the all around?
6:54 El Gogean mas completo que he visto, parte bien en el ángulo y cae exactamente cumpliendo la rotación y media, muy bueno eh!
in my opinion steingruber’s gogean was picture perfect but yesss marta also had a great rotation! both better than all the american gymnasts tbh
How did fragapane outscore guilia? It’s a mystery to me.
amy tinkler has the same floor music as Amelia hundley (2014) & I am obsessed with it1
I feel Fasana's routine is very much underscored in this event. She had 2 H-value tumbles and she nailed almost each of them. Execution must have been higher.

withlove312 British fans love the BBC and that is all that matters. Go and watch a Russian channel or something...
matthew young Wow. Butthurt much?
Yeah BBC does overrate their gymnasts but at least they're not like NBC that promotes their gymnasts by bashing others. I personally prefer universal sports with Amanda Borden and Bart Conner but that's my opinion
Zyxcba I prefer Universal Sports as well. But they don't get uploaded as much as BBC or (unfortunately) NBC.
I don't think they are really that bad. They mentioned the start scores were the same but during Afan's floor routine they really commend her for clean landings and her preciseness and form. How did Munteanu score last?
ezeid137 very low d score.
I think she was very underscored on execution though, she is very clean

Boss likes the 20:00 part as Claudia Fragapane takes on Kesenia Afanaseva for the Gold.

+Isabella Poskrobko 1. There is nothing hatefull about her comment and 2. write proper english or shut up!!
Christine Still sounded please that Afansyeva won because it was so beautiful and classical. She loves to see artistic, classical, gymnasts win.
so Andreaa's floor music reminding anyone else of maddie larson's floor in 2010???
Yes it was Mattie Larson's floor music!
What's the value for a quintuple (5) spin? It better be a G
spins have an e-value cap
Strange. Then why even attempt 5 spins when 4 is already an E? Seems silly :\
Dance elements unfortunately cannot be past E value. A little stupid in my opinion, but it is what it is.
여성결승 2015 선수권 몽펠리에
Amy tinkler has great flexibility and has great control on her spins but I think she needs on not shuffling her feet on all her landings
+awesomemcvideos I don't really think her flexibility is good...look at the leaps
las Américas tienen a Estados Unidos, y Europa tiene a Gran Bretaña.
Afan-sanne-fey-seyva ahahahah
Since when are tattoos allowed in gymnastics? I thought they had to be covered for competition?
calculusfan1 Yes, from what I understand is obligatory, especially with the women.
Marta would..
Amy was robbed, not of a medal but her performace should have gottern better than 6th

I have to agree she isnt really in her beautiful stage more getting used to her slight frame
De Yu She means in the classical sense, which we expect from Russians on floor.
Emmy Johnson By "classical" you mean, skinny body? Because I don't find Kharenkova artistic on FX. She's stiff, her tumbles are subpar, not dynamic on leaps. She's messy all over all, and it shows on her E score.

I have yet to see Kharenkova hit and be artistic.
