- Please thank Cigars Daily for being part of today’s video of Prepared Dad Wrecks Armed Robbers! They sell all kinds of good stuff at get-asp.com/cigars. They are not a financial sponsor of Active Self Protection, but they do have really good cigars and I am a customer. They also, like ASP, support the fight against sex trafficking all over the world. Recently, in Blackfoot, Idaho, a home intruder broke into a home and tied up a 85 year old grandmother. He demanded to know where her money was. She sent him into the basement, hoping he wouldn’t discover that her 32 year old, mentally challenged son was home. While he was in the basement, while still tied to the chair, she retrieved her .357 revolver and hid it. When the intruder returned, angry upon discovering the son, and began to beat her, she pulled out the revolver and shot him twice. He made it to the kitchen where he collapsed and died. Unfortunately, while she was shooting him, he pulled his 9mm pistol and shot her three times. Ten hours later her son discovered her, still tied to the chair and wounded. But still alive.
Here in Idaho even the grannies are packing heat.
I read about this story the other day. Truly amazing lady. I think it was in USCCA magazine I read about it.
@@jennacoryell4160 that's explains why the son was mentally challenged, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia states "The chance of having a child affected by Down syndrome increases from about 1 in 1,250 for a woman who conceives at age 25, to about 1 in 100 for a woman who conceives at age 40."
99% healthy is pretty good odds.
It’s about 1 in 3 if you’re vaccinated but what’s your point here, if he wasn’t so disabled that this ends better? Maybe he didn’t shoot the guy downstairs because he was developmentally disabled? Either way, I wish she didn’t get hurt let alone shot 3 times herself even though she got a W for the community
How was she able to retrieve, hide, then fire the revolver but wasn't able to untie herself?
Dad Did Good. He knew the Mission. Be Like Dad.
@BodSquad yes. He did.
perfect wording!
He also got a free motorcycle 😅😅
👍 You barely beat me to it !
Probably was already reported stolen lol

Dude has training. Handled that like a pro. Calmly handed over his phone to distract them while drawing his firearm then moved laterally the whole time. Great job!
+1
Pity he lost his phone though

Love when the good guys win. Thanks to this channel I am always aware of my surroundings especially at the gas station and arriving home.
200iq he waited for the grab man to block the gunman's line of sight to draw his weapon.
In sleight-of-hand magic, what he did can be part of the basics: palm, ditch, steal, simulation, load, misdirection, and switch. Arguably, steal/load and misdirection. Penn and Teller have a great video explaining it.
The trick within the trick here was probably the man’s ability to maintain his wits under stress that would cause most people to have a fight/flight reaction (tunnel vision, adrenaline, cortisol, poor higher functioning thinking, etc.)
I’ll bet it’s Brazil and he’s an off duty cop😂
Maybe on duty, but with decoys! Or, they are just motorcycle collectors!
It's from Brazil.
Dad keeps the abandoned motorcycle!
Stolen bike. 😂
@@ripn929707he could sell it for scraps 😅😅

What a Dad is for 💯
Dad rules the day.... IT got real for these goofballs quick! Love it!
"re-established their innocence" Now there's a prosecutorial phrase I've never heard before.
This video is from Brazil, because the security system is in portuguese
also the date format, street layout, gated house, clothes. Everything screams brazil
😂
@@lignorof8475 The whole world uses that date format (except the US), the original commenter was right and the monitor is in Portuguese!
@@RandomNPC001 japan uses YY-MM-DD and i prefer it more sometimes
I was in the situation many years ago, 3 times and I had no gun. The the first two times luckily they did not shoot me. The third time this was in NYC and the guy was trying to sneak up on me. I was very aware and I put my hand into my back while keeping eye contact with him... he did not pull the gun all the way out but kept walking. All I had in my hand as it was in the bag was a Bible. Today I am a gun owner.
It's better than a movie. Well prepared.
"Filmed on a potato" always cracks me up.
These ladies wanted to go for a walk in Motorobberville at night, Man said, “seriously? Now I gotta go with you so you don’t get grapes and killed!”
Ladies were like, “oh wtvr you’re paranoid!”
That's one of a dad's greatest challenges; protecting women that think they don't need protected. SMDH
I really like how he stepped off the "X". He assumed another vantage point in order to protect the ladies from gunfire. Since he has a gun, he is the BAD GUYS' biggest threat. Errant gunfire could have hit one of the ladies with him if he'd stayed where he was. He kept the focus on him while keeping them safe(r). GREAT JOB!!
John, don't let your fitness drop away. Mad respect for you and your channel.
Hey, its been years since I commented and you replied to me! Back then you had under 50k subs! Im a Dad now too! Thanks for your dedication through the years of Daily Lessons! ❤
Shout out to Tim and the boys at Cigars Daily, honestly the best cigar content available on RUclips.
Gonna go out on a flimsy limb and say this was in Brazil. LOL!
Love to see Dads carrying and defending themselves and those they care about.
Love to see dads encouraging the women in their lives to learn how to protect themselves.

11 secs in and it made me smile. Being ready is what it's about. I sleep soundly knowing what's in the drawer next to me and ready and waiting under the bed.
What ready and waiting under the bed? You got a home defense monster?
Thanks for the info😉

Happy Saturday 💯
Good man, way to go! I definitely would've kept my eyes on the two Moto's as they passed by, but that's because I watch ASP! Thanks John and crew!
He did wait too long, but he did a great job on carrying and holding his ground.
You dont draw from the drop.... you wait your turn just as he did....
If you play back at lowest speed you can see the robber drops the phone and what could be a weapon on the ground, and even looking down acknowledging it but at that point he’s trying to start the bike
Looks like he got a free motorcycle
He’s got a new bike out of it
Walking around at night.. He is baiting. 😂
Freedom is available 24/7 😅 but yeah live bait 💪🏾
Dad saved the day and got a free moto in return!
"Give me everything you have!"
"If you say so 🤷♂"
Seems like he may have gained a new motorcycle if he so chooses!
And a gun too. I think he dropped his gun running away .
@@joebudi5136i dont think you want a gun from a criminal like that, its not worth it at all 😅.
0:42 Well, this is definitelly from Brazil. I can tell that by the day set on the camera. Its "Dom" and "Seg" which means Sunday and Monday in portuguese
Agree! But, Brazil is not the only country that speaks Portuguese
Why not from Portugal?
@@gjjnn8793It could be Portugal however, Portugal is not known for thieves riding motorcycles robbing people at gun point. Brazil on the other hand…

Dad bod too! He covered his and his companions ASP’s!
Solid win!
Looks to me like the bad guy gets off 2 shots at 6:13...surprised John missed that!
I had't noticed that until now, thanks. Yeah, it does look like the perp fired twice at our defender.
Great breakdown and discussion integrating training techniques at each step. Thanks John and Stephanie.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Come on John, it's Houston or Brazil!😂😂
"just from calibrated thumb stuff" as im using my thumb and index finger on my screen to measure the motorcycle as a reference, got me dying laughing 🤣
Speed of competence is a good one
Believe it or not this happened to me on Lake Simcoe here in Ontario Canada. We were ice fishing at night in a rental hut, they were on snowmobiles. I was walking to the Hut and two of them jumped me, I didn’t have anything on me and they took off.😂
The perp on the top motorcycle takes a shot at 6:11 at the protective dad.
Good job, dad!!
And, dad now has a free motorcycle !
Video is 100% from Brazil. You can tell by the calendar "Dom Seg Ter..." These are the days of the week.
Why not from Portugal?
Sure, here's my phone. Check out my new ring tone! Pow pow pow!

Those side steps were beautiful
The man should always be the primary defender and having a wife who is a defender is a added bonus.
Ehh, thats kinda old way of thinking. XD I want my partner to be a defender regardless of gender.
@@XFizzlepop-Berrytwist okay.........
That doesn’t help her unless they are together 100% of the time. I recommend that if you’re if able mind and body that you prepare to defend yourself.
