She is such a beautiful little girl besides being very mature and strong.
The fact that at 2:12 said she has her own tissue, you can tell how much she has gone through and how strong she is in her independence. She is strong and wise, prayers go up for her and her family.

I identify with this girl, although my mom had mental health issues more than drug addiction. Alcohol played a dangerous role in her episodes for a long time. This girl will grow up to be amazing, observant, and caring beyond the capacity of others who have not encountered early childhood trauma. Wishing her all the best!
I myself have severe mental health issues, I'm a recovering addict AND the mom of a 16 year old son.... it's encouraging to know that my son isn't necessarily doomed bc he got stuck with a mom like me it's only because of him that I even bothered to get clean (twice) bc it's a tough and scary world out here, I know that better than most, and my son is going to need all of the positive, healthy and sober help he can get in this world.... no one is ever going to look out for your children the way their parent does and so if it couldn't be me who would be left to do it????? I just focus on healing each and every day now, hopefully the hurt is over.....

Addiction affects predominantly young healthy criminals. I have been trying to have the discovery of the nature of addiction known for years to end the war on drugs. Addiction satisfy the need to be a victim as is evidenced by addicts banning themselves the drugs that would take contaminated, expensive, unavailable, criminally punishable. I would like to help you as a recovering addict and psychologist. Addiction is the psychology of a liar, drugs don’t cause addiction and only liars get hooked and only honesty gets freedom. The tragedy of addiction is children who revenge a childhood hurt, or trauma, against their parents learning from example. Addicts don’t forgive, are needy of attention that steal from others, and have secrets that tell in AA meetings to reveal who they truly are to take off the mask and heal, ending the identity deception. Liars bring up liars, addiction runs in families. Parents hurt their children and children retaliate becoming victims of themselves to conceal the hatred and hurt others. I am alone socially ostracised by liars paying the price for being honest. I can prove my claim that the obvious truth is addiction is the psychology of a liar dropping mortality rates when my theory is known. It is harder to convince a fool that to know the truth is better than to be deceived than to deceive him.

It's saddening seeing children having to be so strong and act like adults. No child to have to be an adult so young, and it's disheartening. But I'm so proud of these little people, being able to be so strong like this.

My mom is a drug attics I’m only 10 and I have seen these things for my whole life she has never been mean before but I always had to listen to my parents fighting so right now she is trying to get better and this made me burst in tears

As a teenager who has addict parents. It doesn’t just effect the parents, it affects the kids as well. I was fiending for myself. however, now in a better situation.

Broken system. Kids that shou of be kept with good families are taken out of them and kids that should be taken out of bad families are kept there.

I'm raising my neice right now because her mother died from junk. The woman overdosed once and her family came to her aid dusted her off and propped her up when they should have let her hit rock bottom and learn a lesson but they didn't and less than a month later she was at some drug friends house and she overdosed and that was it. Twords the end she was a tyrannical person to everything and everyone around her. Pure evil.
So many have stories like this, it's the children that will bear the burden. Be well.❤

I lived a life like this girl, i am glad they are sharing this. It feels deeply isolating i don't know other people that experienced this. This along with Stauber's "Opal" is media i am grateful for because it's a life I felt alone in and I couldn't see anyone else like me around. Child neglect isn't spoken about a lot.

I had the same childhood as Tori 😢 During the 2000s opioid epidemic, the public judged & ostracized addicts. I grew up trying to cover up my mothers severe pill addiction, excuse her bizarre behavior, & protect her from this harsh world. Glad times have changed where there’s less stigma attached & more empathy. Ultimately, addicts have suffered enough in life from underlying trauma, pain, and/or mental health problems. Everyone deserves to be treated equally ❤💪🙏

I wish I could hug this girl because I know what it’s like living with a drug addicted mother. My mom still uses meth to this day and all I can do is accept this is how she wants to live her life and just love her… I know it might sound wrong but I got only one mother.

Wow, It takes a lot of courage and bravery to come forward to tell your story, of what you had seen. Drug addiction not only hurts the user, but their friends and family as well. I’m glad that Tori was able to get her story out to spread awareness, this can help others say that this won’t last forever and that we can overcome this with the proper treatment/care. Praise the Lord that her mom is doing better now.

I JUST said to my counselor how I'm the parent in the relatioship between my mom and I.
This was the lifestyle I had as a child. Both my parents are deseased the time I was 18. I was an adult by 12.
@I_Slayyy_Dragonzz 777 My parent used Herion and when I was 6 years old CPS was called and we were taken away for almost 3 years. I moved back my parents were clean but then my mother became sick with Cancer from the years of drug use. Once she passed I was 11 and my father started using shortly after that. So 11 to 13 I took care of everything. Cleaning, Cooking, Laundry, and watching my little sister. When I was 13 CPS took us away again. My dad was unable to change his ways and died when I was 18.
How on earth is this kid so wise? Maybe her grandparents intervened early enough to provide stable support? She's so positive about making right choices despite having been in a toxic destructive environment. Wow! She's an example of a self-responsible person that makes healthy choices despite overwhelming negative circumstances. Her parent? What a screw up. Sorry, there's no excuse for being loser drug addict when you have a kid that need you.
