@DavidMausJr thank you for your education on varies cold plunge options. I followed your DIY build and it is great. Just swapped out the original recommended filter for a larger water purifier graded filter. Water is crystal clear and loving it. Cold plunging has made a huge impact in controlling my RA (along with nutrition, reducing stress and sleep). Congratulations on the next chapter as a full time content creator. Thank you David and God Bless!
It is 22” but it also has the overflow opening so that cuts in to the 22”. Can you still do a proper plunge with the overflow where it is? I’ve seen this tub for sale online and considered using it for my own DIY but I was unsure if inlet/outlet fittings would work. It looks like they will. Just wondering if it’s deep enough.
of all my setups this one is the shallowest. And it will need to be somewhere that can get wet. The overflow will cut into the depth when in it. They had to cut a bunch of fittings into it to make this tub work.
Great video… thanks. Given polar monkey has the built in drain, and I have a free floating tub in my master broom, do you think I could just replace my tub with the polar monkey? I am concerned about draining these things if I put it in my basement or something? Thanks again
Thanks @davidmausjr for the great reviews. Just ordered a refurbished Plunge XL with Heat/Chiller option. Cannot wait to get my plunge on. Keep up the great content and encouraging way to talk about life, things you are interested in and Keep Christ 1st. Ps. used to live in Orlando and remember your Dad's commercials. Small world. ;)
Hey David, I like this review and i went to both websites and added apples to apples to the carts and now the brain pod 2.0 with the .8hp brainpod chiller and the plunge standard with similar accessories and savings codes where I could use them it comes out to almost the same price. Honestly can’t figure out what is the best way to go? I want app control. I don’t need hot because i have a hot tub in backyard… what say you?
Plunge. I have had the least issues with Plunge over any other cold plunge on the market. From the product, to the maintenance needs, to the customer service and team response, to the overall experience. They are all great, but Plunge takes the top spot in this one.
@@DavidMausJr thank you for the reply. Been plunging in a tote kinda like your first DIY same tuffstuff rubber tote from Tractor supply. Been not too bad since i live in Maine and just can use snow to chill it down daily for my needs but labor intensive and in a couple months snow will be gone. I need to change the water every 2 weeks. Though i am using spa chemicals i have for chlorination and pH balance so it’s not getting nasty or harsh. But it seems like it is something my wife and I are using regularly and starting to do contrast therapy with hotub then cold plunge.
Great content man! I have the Brainpod 2.0 hot / cold. It was only available w/ .06 HP chiller. I really wish I went with Plunge. The filters with PM are poor quality, fail within 1-2 days. It took over 12 weeks to arrive, customer service is also pretty terrible they put all solutioning the customer.
they control if there is a discount or not, they usually dont unfortunately. you can still use the link as it supports my ability to keep making content :)
I was just watching some other videos and deciding between these two! What have you heard about edge theory ice bath? I’m 6’ 3” so submerging is important, but the Plunge XL is too pricey right now. Suggestions?
Oh yea! I have it too! (i also have a discount code you can use if you go that route) Check this out: ruclips.net/video/bMd3mejX_CM/видео.htmlsi=mw4dra4a_1FWMDWq
The Plunge Standard/Hot&Cold is more apples to apples. That is $5590 and the BrainPod with a cover is $4339. Both these now have a cover and hot/cold. Sooo David what chiller is better?
Hello David, a quick question for you, I have limited space, but I do have a regular bath tub in my master bathroom that I could use. Is it possible to get a chiller, and just stick the chiller hoses into the tub (securely, meaning I put some weight on the hoses so they don't slip out) and chill it that way, foregoing getting a separate tub? If so, is there a chiller type/brand that would be more suitable for this, or all of them would do the trick. Thank you in advance!
for sure! This is one of my original builds and this setup might work perfect for that. i have chiller/pump kits in the video description links: ruclips.net/video/3LmvDK-xJR0/видео.html
the Plunge is made of acrylic and fiberglass with a metal reinforced base. They say it is designed to last a lifetime. I couldnt find exactly what the BrainPod is made of but its basically a really nice tub for a home, just outfitted for cold plunging.
Just got rid of my polar monkey. Chiller only lasted a month before breaking, and the company was going to take over three weeks to fix it. Overall experience with polar monkeys was awful. Just went with the plunge and definitely should have gone with it in the first place
@@JC-gh1ds ya I had the new chiller. Runs through the teyu app (some Chinese app that kinda made me nervous tbh lol). Customer service is terrible to work with too. One reply a day/two days. Extremely frustrating.
@@JC-gh1ds ya they were going to. But here's the deal (and how it typically went for me with customer service): "we received your chiller in the mail and will ship out your new one on Friday." Friday came and went, contacted them again and "it'll actually be sent out next week now." next week comes and goes. "sorry for the delay. It'll be sent next week. We'll add an extra filter, free of charge, as an apology."
The plunge! Just bought the all in! Thank you for the information David!
Great comparison, please update the newest polar one now has lights and beautiful colors and designs
Another good review Dave. Haven't tried a lay down style plunge, but love the ice barrel.
Me too! :) Thank you!

Nice stuff. Over my price range though. Good review.
Thank you!
Plunge all the way. Free shipping and cover included made it a no brainer.
TOO EXPENSIVE..GET THE ICE BARREL 300..ADD ICE TO IT..COMES INSULATED😂
That’s another good choice. 😊
Great options!
Would pick the Plunge, think better purchase

If money was no object, I would pick the Plunge XL hot and cold.
For sure! Its legit

Do you keep yours in your garage? Any issues with a bunch of overspill?
No issues here. You quickly learn how to get out without spilling

Thanks for the support! Yea the Plunge seems pretty bullet proof compared to a lot on the market. More money but seems worth it.
Great video, yet again. thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!

I have to give the "better chiller award" to Plunge

They told me still another 2-3 weeks before my order ships for my ice barrel. Crazy. Its been a month.
Oh no! I am sorry that is not normal. When i was up there they were trying so hard to catch up, didnt anticipate the 300 selling so many so fast.
Has anyone tried to make a cold plunge out of an Acrylic freestanding tub?
Yep! The Polar Monkey BrainPod is basically that
