Health, and its impacts on quality of life, are a concern for people who don't consume healthy things, and are either too big, or too small for their skeletons. Although I fully agree with the pressure of societal expectations, it isn't all about beauty standards.
Unless everyone is happy with the NHS collapsing then it is not OK to eat yourself to oblivion and it is irresponsible to pretend publicly that it is.
It was rather disappointing to hear a room full of people cheering someone for being proud of being unhealthy. Beauty standards have traditionally been subconsciously based on looking for a healthy partner in order to maximise the chances of having healthier future generations.

Starving yourself is patently unhealthy. Weight is totally different from nutrition. Weight is a product of genetics or age. When you age, your metabolism slows, and the same diet you had when you were younger will cause you to put on weight. That doesn’t mean those foods which were previously healthy have now become unhealthy- it just means your body is processing them differently. Genetically, people whose grandparents have survived famine or starvation are more likely to gain and keep weight. That’s their bodies protecting them. Furthermore, there have been some studies which have shown that people considered “overweight” live longer than people who aren’t.

Too many F-bombs for my liking. I remember when comedians could make you laugh without using any profanity at all.
