My son's mother showed me the Mountain Goats when we first met probably back in 2012/13..I was into them right away, and we even went to see them a couple times in Philly and NY. She never liked MG covers, but I always liked this cover alot. She died a little over 6 months ago, and for awhile after I couldn't even listen to the Mountain Goats. Even the thought of a MG song would fucking destroy me. It's still kinda difficult to listen to sometimes, but always worth it.
this has been and still is my favorite track of anything ever for the past four years of my life. love u jeff rosenstock love u the many players of btmi and love u john darnielle so much
Window mounted air conditioning unit Humming like a hive We want to send postcards to the friends we used to have Rub their noses in the ugly fact that we are still alive And we play lovers reggae On accordion and banjo When the moon is high And we lie on the floor Get suspicious of the people Who've just moved in next door The bad taste in our mouths The twinkle in your eye Good things never last Bad things never die Wind chime from Tahiti that we found down at the auction Tolls its minor chord and I can't think of on thing in this whole wide blessed world That's more dangerous and frightening Than you when you get bored And we go through scads of money Don't know where it comes from Don't know where it goes And we stare, out the window See the poison flowers the neighbors grow Sprouting up in nice neat rows The swelling in our limbs The twinkle in our eye Good things never last Bad things never die

"Hey Jeff, how much distortion you want on this song?"
"How much you got?"
He’s got enough to distort his harmonica
@@ratchapel8974 Fuck me, that's what that is? I thought it was some kind of horn. I think that'd peak the audio range of people's ears LIVE
Yeah dude I’m pretty sure that’s what it is though and I can’t imagine they have ears after hearing that live lol
"Yes."

Window mounted air conditioning unit
Humming like a hive
We want to send postcards to the friends we used to have
Rub their noses in the ugly fact that we are still alive
And we play lovers reggae
On accordion and banjo
When the moon is high
And we lie on the floor
Get suspicious of the people
Who've just moved in next door
The bad taste in our mouths
The twinkle in your eye
Good things never last
Bad things never die
Wind chime from Tahiti that we found down at the auction
Tolls its minor chord
and I can't think of on thing in this whole wide blessed world
That's more dangerous and frightening
Than you when you get bored
And we go through scads of money
Don't know where it comes from
Don't know where it goes
And we stare, out the window
See the poison flowers the neighbors grow
Sprouting up in nice neat rows
The swelling in our limbs
The twinkle in our eye
Good things never last
Bad things never die
can't believe it took ten years for lyrics to be in the comments like what lol
