I used to live and work at Yorkdale Mall! This brings back old memories! I remember PJ’s Pet Store as well! I bought a cockatiel there once who lived to be 11 years old! Thanks for sharing your trip to Yorkdale Mall! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Thank you for this! I haven't been to Yorkdale mall in a long time! I've seen this mall go through so many changes and watching this I don't even recognize it anymore. It's become too "posh" for many people who used to frequent it and don't like how "fancy" they made it. A google search doesn't show Yorkdale Mall as the largest enclosed mall. The Iran Mall, Dubai Mall, West Edmonton Mall and others are listed as the largest enclosed malls. In Canada it says the largest is the West Edmonton Mall with over 5 million sq ft of space where Yorkdale has 2 million sq ft.
We used to live on Marlee Ave when I was a kid for a few years and we went to Yorkdale around the holidays to grab Xmas gifts. There was one year where we went really late in the season (probably Dec 23rd or something) and there were all sorts of problems going on along the Spadina line section of the subway due to snow and ice. Our train took about 45 minutes to get between Glencairn and Yorkdale because of it and it was freezing due to the power cuts that kept us sitting in the middle of the Spadina expressway numerous times. For some reason this reminded me of that. Thanks for your videos.
Brings me Memories from my youth I used to visit the mall and take the subway to downtown and to hockey practice nearby thanks for the video. Hello from fort Myers Florida.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇴
Thank you for doing this. Thats one mall I don't need to visit just to see how Christmas-y it looks...and I hate going here now. I niss the days when Ciniplex Odeon was right by the TTC entrance, the IT Store was still around, and Indigos entire store was books (now books only seem to occupy 2/3 of the upper level, with the entire lower level is all merch).
You would never know that you were in the mall to do Christmas shopping. With the exception of the Christmas trees in the aisles, the majority of stores were not decorated. Photos of Santa in a Spaceship Booth? Whatever happened to Santa's log cabin, reindeer? I miss the 1970's/1980's.
🤔 I question which stores I would gravitate to had I gone there. Probably take a look at the food court, would need to go during daylight hours. MEC for sure, Arc’teryx second. Now that I know there are EV dealerships, that’s a must.
Johnny, you're walking through "earthly heaven" but your voice is like coming from damn hell; get yourself (would be for us👍for you) a new microphone for a Christmas.
@@Maddie2u it has nothing to do with that. It’s just retail shifting to online, retailers don’t want to spend a penny decorating. Before stores used to start to get really busy starting late October, this season everyone waited till this week to shop in-store. (Ofc most people being broke had a huge effect as well)
WOW this is as sad looking as Square One in Mississauga! Not one drop of Christmas cheer, unless you count those few trees! No music, no window decor, nothing! Very, very sad! Not your fault you are only showing reality. It was heart breaking last week at Square One, I left depressed!
I was at Sherway and was so happy to see a huge Merry Christmas sign at the entrance you can see it right off the highway It was nice to see it’s been a long time Yorkdale is neutral

My grandmother used to take a chartered bus with her girlfriend from Barrie to Yorkdale Mall and shop for the day back in the 70’s
I lived in Toronto Mississauga in the 80/90's.....could never afford all this....but loved to wander ..
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🇨🇦✨🎄🎄🎄

Wow that’s a huge mall 😮
Hello there and morning from Montreal QC ! .. and hello everyone ! ..
Do you like our Yorkdale mall? What do you think?
Hello and Bonjour from Niagara Falls.
Hi😊❤
Brings me Memories from my youth I used to visit the mall and take the subway to downtown and to hockey practice nearby thanks for the video. Hello from fort Myers Florida.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇴
Enjoyed the video. Sounds like the mall has changed a lot since you were a kid.
Hey Johnny strides, it’s been a while since I last watched one of your videos! It’s good to see your doing well, hopefully! I’ll tune in from now on.
Back in the day, they had new car shows here I saw a brand new 1967
Mercury cougar in white presented by showgirls😊 great vid, Johnny.
Enjoyed!
Thanks!
Nice video, most of all the stores you showed are almost vanished in Holland. Keep up the good work ❤
good morning everyone
Vivian Johnson & Marge I missed you this morning. Hope all is well.❤️🏡🎄

Aritzia at 26:25 doing the Trump dance how awesome is that!

Best mall in the gta!
Out of all those shops.. There is only 2 that I would go to (Lego and Indigo book store).. My visit to the mall would be very short.
Missed you by a few mins.

Toronto is such a hole. I wouldn’t never go near this place.
Not much sitting areas

One of the LUCID car models can go from 0 to 100 KMH in 2 seconds. If you have $237,000.00 CDN....lol
That mall has become too high end shops. Most middle class don't go there.
🥱
Christmas is no longer permitted in Toronto. ....considered inciteful.
@@Maddie2u eaton center has a giant Christmas tree light and music show every hour
@MonekyMike thank God!

Says who? I've lived here for almost a decade and it's always looked, heard, and felt like Christmas around Christmas time.
Not a single Xmas tree, how come?
Are you blind? There’s literally Christmas trees in the thumbnail
Welcome to the new Toronto, where Christmas is offensive.

Good tour. But sound is terrible, unclear speaking. Buy a professional mike.
