Congratulations. I know what you mean about "mental feeedom" and I agree. I have been made redundant due to Covid and it would be terrible to go back to a paid work now, although my earnings with kdp are currently lower than what I need. But I will make it. Your videos are so inspiring👍☺
Congratulations and Good luck, I've worked for "Other people" all my life so far (30+ years) and find all your points valid, budgeting and having a safety net of cash is always a good idea (IMHO At least 6 months if you have no young children, 12 months minimum if you do) To cover at least the basics. There's nothing worse than working in a job you hate it can be extremely frustraiting, mentally exhausting and it can be made worse if it's also in a toxic enviroment. I'm only just starting to build up an "Escape fund" but as they say, "The best time to start if you haven't already is now"
@@selfpublishingempire Getting to take the dogs out whenever you want is extra motivation for me, as me and the missus only get to take the dogs out together once a day Mon-Fri, But three times a day at the weekend. We find it a nice way to relax and chat about stuff while out with the puppers :)
all the best, keep in mind that Q4 is far away and youll have a great bookshelf by then! Im sure you'll kill it! This thing is a marathon (or an iron man lol)
Thank you so much for this video!! I was looking for this kind of advice and didn’t even know I needed it. This is so informative and just brilliant. Thank you 🙏🏼 very much
Great stuff Craig, as you get older you realise that life is too short to do something you're unhappy with each day. I would do exactly the same given the chance, unfortunately I only make a small amount from KDP per month which is usually around the same as I spend on ads!
As do most I would say. Craig is in the higher tier. And then you have people who have made a million. Very few of those. But the key to succeeding in anything is persistence. For some it will take longer, and some will have more success than others ever will. But all can eventually have a good degree of success.
No, I've been focusing entirely on Amazon for the time being as there's a huge marketplace with customers ready to buy. I have backed up all of my books though, so should I wish to do anything wider in the future I have the option :)

Thanks Lilly, you got this! Keep growing and you'll get there :)

Congratulations! A big step. But now you have a lot more time to work on things 😊. I’m interested in how the Amazon influencer program goes as well.
I can relate, I hate my job so much and looking forward to quitting that job. Congratulations

100% agreed! Keep going Denise :) Hopefully those royalties will keep increasing, that's how I started as well!
My fingers are crossed. You got this! :)

Good luck! Your analysis is always interesting to watch and learn from...
Thank you for watching!
You'll crush it in Q4, mark my words! Then you'll be super happy about your decision
Thank you! I hope so :)
Interesting! Congratulations! you're on an excellent path!
Apart from Amazon, have you tried to print and market your book direct?

I think you will eventually multiply your previous full time job income many times in the future.🙂
