Emulation on a Mini PC - GEEKOM Mini Air12

- Testing the GEEKOM Mini Air12 on several emulators, PC games and more. This video is sponsored by GEEKOM, who sent me this mini PC for review with only a request to show an unboxing of it. Everything is my opinion on my own tests. I focused my tests on games that are usually featured on my channel, such as the Bond ones, other N64 titles, and a few extra that I had to use to make sure I got proper benchmarks.
The Mini Air12 is not a product made for gaming, but I'm doing exactly that. It works just fine for retro emulation, old games and surprised me on a few more modern titles. It also showed great results as a local server, normal web browsing, and watching 4K video files and streams. Very low power consumption and almost no noise at all!
While not shown in the video, emulators for consoles before the Wii work as expected. PS1, Dreamcast, PSP, and of course 2D consoles all run very well on this mini PC.

This is not the first time I feature something that is sent to me for review, but it is the first time I'm doing this "officially" with a company. I'm happy with the treatment I got with GEEKOM, and their initial contact was flawless, proving they informed themselves on what I do on my channel beforehand. I really appreciated this which pushed me into giving it a go. Usually I get sponsorship requests of products that would not make sense to show on my channel, or ask for things that do not fit my style at all. Not the case here.

Make sure to read the description as always! I hope you can find this video interesting, I had no past experience with Mini PC's like this but I had great fun finding things to do with it and informing myself about them. I tested other games as well, and I've seen people be able to run things like GTA V on medium 30-40FPS but I focused on games that can run smoothly and that are also related to what I do here on my channel.
👍
me sorprende mucho que esa mini PC
hay que soportado juegos que son muy pesados o que son muy difíciles de emular
So that's what Graslu sounds like.
Not the first time he's spoken, but hearing it is like finding a dollar bill on the street.
@@NuclearWintr i thought grasslo was a chick...im highly disappointed. Nice little PC though.
@@grilleFire Thats what a cheater sounds like.
The fact we’ve gotten to a point in emulation where we can emulate n64, Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii, ps3, 360, ps2. Like emulation has come so far
This is the first time ive heard you speak. Big love from Leicester UK. Would be fantastic to see some technical analysis on GoldenEye mechanics similar to the way Decino covers Doom
I thought about doing some detailed guides on how the game works but I have to find t he time and motivation. Thanks for your comment!
Also from Leicester!.. Ifound out recently that Goldeneye64 was also created in Leicestershire (Twycross)... Crazy.
@PoloBoyBanks Ayy big up Leicester crew! The best thing to come out of Twycross as well. The only other thing they're known for other than the zoo 🤣
Honestly this runs a lot better than expected. Crazy how far we've come when a mini PC can run Crysis which used to make the greatest machines fall to their knees back in the day.
And it runs GoldenEye: Source really well.
Congrats on your first vijda sponsorship
It's so crazy hearing your voice my good sir
Nice video and presentation. First time hearing your voice as well haha
Damn dude, for a split sec, I thought I was watching an ETA Prime mini PC Review lol
Nice I need one of these 👍
good vidi
You could post a video of paint drying and I'll still be interested honestly
Buen video
If music would play every time you walked, the one at the beginning of the video would be it
Nice piece of kit you got there. Did they let you keep it or did you have to send it back after this unboxing/review?
Gave it to my dad
Love your voice! 😊
Random question Graslu but what is your favourite video game of all time?
Also what's your favourite fps game of all time and why.
I love your content.
I guess it's fair to say GoldenEye for both but it's probably not the game I played the most. No other FPS comes close to how satisfying and replayable GoldenEye is to me, and it's a formula that hasn't been utilized again since Perfect Dark so you don't see it on other games.
@@Graslu00you've probably played these games already, but half-life and quake 1 had nearly the same effect for me, they are also god tier 90s games
@@prod.verif_I've played both yeah, I show HL1 at 15:49 as well! I enjoy them both, but the gunplay is still far superior to me on GoldenEye, it's like the perfect mix of arcade and realism where the enemies react to where you hit them. Adds a lot to it.
@@Graslu00yeah i agree, goldeneye perfected the gunplay for sure, even games that try to emulate it have never fully done the same, except for perfect dark obviously, even then i prefer GEs gunplay over PD.
@@prod.verif_ Same! There's something about Perfect Dark's effects that makes it feel stiffer. GoldenEye had the perfect mix of sound and effects to make it super satisfying. Kind of like how classic DOOM 1 and 2 got the shotgun feel and sound perfectly.
How does it handle 4-player multiplayer on Goldeneye 64 and Super Smash Bros?
It can do Smash Bros no issue, and 4-player multiplayer works on 1964 with Jabo's Video Plugin at 60FPS. Should be fine on Mupen64 with GLideN64 at x2 res too.
Makes no sense for emulation when its already on xbox
What are you talking about exactly? I show many emulators here.
