Last time Meath played Dublin in Navan in the champions was 86 I believe. Meath can’t give up easily. Dublin are better that’s fine, but the Meath fight needs to be better
I still get a tinge of optimism ahead of Meath Dublin games. It happens every year. We have a decent team we just need coaches and a manager that knows how to get us to a Division 1 standard. I don’t think O’Rourke, Bray and Giles arr up to it as much as I respect them for all they’ve done and I appreciate it’s no easy task but we have to look outside the county and we should be only hiring the best, even if that means bringing in Dubs (god help us) but look at how hiring Kiwis as coaches improved Irish Rugby.
Yea, disappointed as a Meath man that game isn't in Navan but will be good for our young team to get experience on the big stage and hopefully we can give Dubs a game 🤞🙏
Makes no difference where that game is played. Dublin destroyed us by over 10 points in Pairc Tailteann last year in the league. Dubs are different class.
It's gotten to a stage that the Dubs may as well be playing against a club team in Meath for the Leinster Championship. Sunday will be another Glorified Training Session as the Dubs are likely to cruise to a comfortable 12 point win. At some stage the GAA must consider taking Dublin out of the Leinster Championship, moving them up to Ulster to play in neutral venues and tighter pitches. If Galway hurlers play their provincial championship in Leinster, why can't the Dubs and Kerry play their provincial games in Ulster? If the GAA decide to keep Dublin in Leinster, it's only a matter of time before they reach 20 Leinster Titles in a row which is further proof of a lack of competition.
It was never to be played in navan. If Longford had of won last weekend the tie would have been played in o Moore pk. It’s a home fixture for Meath in croke pk. They could have picked anywhere..
The game absolutely shouldn't be in croke park. As a spectacle, the whole thing is a non event. I miss the days where a Dublin Meath Leinster fixture would draw 60k, this game will be lucky to get 20k
If we were playing a Division 1 team this weekend I'd say there could be trouble but will be fine without him on Sunday. Be a good chance for the other lads to get a run out
