- Poor conditions on the 40 metre band! QSO with Geri DL8MEL in Munich. A contact that would be pretty much impossible on SSB? Long live CW for poor conditions!
Rig Kenwood TS590SG with Dipole as inverted vee. Paddle Begali Simplex and Hamgadgets Pico keyer.
Nice video, lovely sending.
Cheers Lee. Thanks for kind comments. Catch you on bands soon for a chat I hope. 73 Nigel G4BSW
Nicely done in tough band conditions. Thanks for posting and 73 from VK3.
Thanks Darrin. 73 mate from The UK
Always a pleasure to hear a skilled CW op. The old code is both a barrier and a strong bond in these days of super easy license exams.
VY FB speed ES fist OM! I have the TS590S. Looks like you may be running the SG here. Love the fact that you don’t actually have a mic connected!
Thanks for that kind comment mate. Yep that’s the TS590SG. Superb little radio 👍
CW FOREVER
Skills! I love watching people use Morse :)
This Kenwood is just awesome. I am new into CW(15wpm), but not a few times I've managed CW QSOs with the S-meter showing NO bars at all and with narrow filter/NR2 activated, yet I could still hear the other side Morsing me. Though, what report does someone gives on such scenario? 509?!!
If you are at 15, you're doing very well. Always practice a bit faster than you can copy. You will be surprised and pleased at the skill level you will attain.
nice rig and key!!!!
Thanks for sharing this, it sounds like a great rig for the CW op. 73 Graham de G4VUX
Cheers Graham. Yes a brilliant rig mate. Love your home brew stuff on QRZ.com! All the best 73 Nigel G4BSW
got to be a way to get that noise out of there
Hello Steve. I tend to use my ears as a filter with weak signals
@@nigelhadley me to but good filters do help
reading the qso while my telly is on, chris and nigel, nice key too de g0dhz.
Looks to be an iambic key, but too little movement to tell (for me anyway). What brand and model? Thanks!
Hi, Yes an iambic dual paddle, Begali Simplex 👍
@@nigelhadley Thanks very much, 73!
good sound and rig! DX es 73 de RK3T!
Thanks for posting. Obviously very skilled, roughly what rate of send/receive are we seeing?
G4 Nigel going about 27-28 wpm, Geri going abt 23 I'd guess...
Turn your RF gain down mate!
Bad cw filter adjustment! to much noise!
Totally agree. New rig I was getting used to. :-)
