- Thor: Love and Thunder is here and with it comes the introduction of one of the most interesting weapons in all of Marvel history: The necrosword known as the All-Black. And this sword is seriously no joke in terms of power and destruction it can cause. The really interesting thing about this sword is that it basically has two famous masters. Gorr the God Butcher and Knull. In fact, it was Knull’s very own creation as he forged it out of primordial darkness and infused it with the power of a celestial. Yeah, so you know it can pack a serious punch. But there was a time where Knull was defeated and the All-Black sought a new host. Enter Gorr the God Butcher who wanted to use its amazing powers to butcher every god in his general vicinity.
So with a sword this powerful, the question becomes how strong actually is it? Well, that’s what I’m going to discuss today! I’m going to break down the All-Black’s long history, some of its amazing abilities, and how those could perhaps be translated into the MCU. There’s a lot to discuss today so let’s get started soon! Honestly, I wouldn't put knull in the MCU In such a heartbeat. He needs the Thanos treatment. But there are other villains who are interesting threats. They don't even have to be cosmic threats. Knull, The Beyonder, Molecule Man, all them people are too fucking op. And to nerf them hard would be a disappointment and on top of that, if you killed them off In a single movie. Gorr, in my opinion, should've had at least 2-3 movies worth because Gorr is such a personal antithesis to who and what Thor is. And the fact that such dynamic was shown briefly is sad. And that he lived in the movie to only die In the end. Thanos was a personal threat for everyone. But Gorr was Thor's personal threat most of all In the comics. Made him doubt himself and become unworthy and question other things about what it meant to be a god and a hero. And what it meant to be a god among selfish petty gods who dont help their mortals.
I have seen Thor Love and Thunder (no spoilers) and Gorr doesn’t have necromancy powers but a sword called the necrosword. Hela has a different necro thing called necromancy made only by Hela.
I bet the sword Gorr uses in the new Thor movie will either not be the All Black or will just have the origins change entirely.

The actual version of knull we all credit or give credit to..does not actually need to be brought into our universe or the "multiverse". He's already there. Now hear me out before ruling this comment ur verdict. "Before the creation of life or light, there was nothing and darkness". Knull rules and resides in that nothing/darkness. The reason he hates celestial an creation is because it disrupted his nothing/darkness. We are all living within his kingdom. It surrounds our universe, planets, celestials, and multivariate. Basically, all life was created within his world and he is older than any God, human, or celestial.

Wait I'm kind of confused in the movie it said that those who bare the necro sword would be driven mad and die but in the comics Gorr has lived for 3,000 years.
I think what that meant was it would drive you into yourself and your ego and wielding the sword, as a mortal, would take its toll on you and if ever departed from it, you would die. And that's if there isn't a god that is strong enough to kill you while you wield it. Because Gorr in the comics wielded the necroblade and it made him MORE of what he already was. The Necroblade is the physical representation of a god killer. Anyone who has ever wielded the necroblade mainly used it to kill gods. Rarely ever mortals. Because knull's intention was to kill gods (he was trying to kill everything but his main opposition was gods because it is gods who create or expand everything). So in the movie, not sure if knull even exists at all, the blade entices him to kill gods. He already had a reason to be mad at them but the blade was already killing gods before Gorr picked it up, but the moment he did, it made him more of what he already was. Just that now he has the means to carry it out. Almost like the super soldier serum for captain America and red skull. It made them more of what they already were.
In the comics the necro sword is a symbiote but in the movie it was like a relic/super weapon.

Kang, Maybe. Those OP ass people. On the heros side? Franklin Richards, Jean Grey Phoenix, X-Man (Luke grey or something, forgot his name) and a number of other reality warpers and strong magic wielders. Hell, Dr Strange, before his 2009 depowering, he was one of the strongest heroes a d he could've been on this list.

The Ebony Blade has a similar effect as the more it kills the more it makes the Black Knight go insane. Blade knows all about that realm. Expect that to connect to a Midnight Sons movie. I rather the Necro Sword or there calling it the all Black cause technically Hella has necro swords popping out of her at will but Knull forged the Sword. He was the first being living in a void of darkness then the cornball celestials came like they own the place and got there ass handed to them by Knull. Best villain ever besides Doom and Mr.Sinister...well those are my favorites besides Carnage.

Cant really love the movie, Bale acting is really good, but in terms of story I think it could be better. I have to prefer the og story than this one, it simply become a comedy film. So many wasted potential in the movie.
