This is really well done, and the information is accurate, corroborating what I've found from reputable sources. The hara is a somewhat abstract and obscure topic, and misconceptions are easy to adopt. Thank you for putting this together!
This information of Hara is very essential for beginners... Effort is indeed not enough without a complete understanding of some important terms in meditation
In my second session of energy healing she mentioned my Hara line out of balance. So, I'm learning more about this. I am calling it spiritual growth! Thanks for this explanation! ☮️🩷😊🙏
This is fantastic and thank you. Years ago as I followed the instructions of Shunri Zuzuki's instructions on meditation after again and again reading his book the Beginners Mind I was during meditation in this state and experienced the Awareness you are talking of each time. However, I didnt know how it happened, I thought the same experience will occur in any other meditation practice but it never ever occurred again. It is only today with your teaching that I have gained some clarity. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm delighted to hear that you found the research in the video to be valuable. If you have any more questions or if there's anything else related to the Hara or other spiritual topics that you'd like to explore, please don't hesitate to ask. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! 😊
Friend. Thanks for the sharing. Where did your find this information? The hara is 2 inches below and 2 inches behind de navel aprox. Can you tell me the procedente od your info thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed the podcast, I have practiced martial arts and zazen since my 20's which is about 40 years, and have devoted a lot of effort into seeking information and also testing what I have learnt since there is so much misinformation out there, and the truth is that in the end the Hara is not a thing that can easily be understood by the intellect which is why I felt the need to share my understanding. If you really want to understand the Hara then the only way is to quieten the mind by practicing mediation or if you prefer zazen. Which is why I also added the podcast “Understanding Zen through the tale of the Samurai and the Tea Master” NOTE I have update the error in links in the description.
First i would say just do zazen, other wise the only writer that i thought understood this state was Eugen Herrigel who wrote Zen in the Art of Archery. In the case of my books the one called (Autobiography of a Sorcerer) covers Hara in the section called "Personal Power, Hara & Stopping Internal Dialog". But this also depends on what your interests are, if its just Martial Arts then maybe try the book by Eugen Herrigel.
Then focus on zazen, but any form of meditation will also develop you spiritually. I just have a preference for zazen, because of its focus on the Hara. And as Zen monks are fond of saying when they teach zazen. Just breathe. Spiritually the goals of meditation is to stop the self-talk and to build personal power by conserving Ki (Prana), and if your interest is healing then strong Ki is needed. Hope this helps.
